Done in regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, California, This third day of May, 1909. G. E. Lawrence President of the Board of Trustees J. M. McMahon City Clerk The matter of City Assessment was then taken up. It was moved and seconded that we make our own assessment independent of the County Assessment. The motion was carried by the affirmation votes of Rich, Villinger, and Lawrence. It was then declared to be the understanding that in every case where a change is made, from the assessment of 1908, a motion of the same must be made and referred to the Board for adjustment before making the final assessment. President Lawrence having taken up the matter of water for the City, with Cary Bros., reported that Cary Bros. would furnish water for the City at the rate of 10 cents per 1000 gallons, including water for the park, but that the City should make a deposit of the cost of the meter (presumably about $80), said deposit to be returned to the City when it ceased to use the meter. It was moved, seconded and carried that the Board do now adjourn to reconvene on Monday evening, may 10, 1909. So ordered. Attest: J. M. McMahon City Clerk
