The matter of J.Lranginini's application for permission to

The application of the P -ac. Tel & Tel. Comz-.y to parell-ase
one-half interest in cer-11ain roles referree to the Supt. Public
Utilities =ith instruction that he :_,alze his reconmenAation on Tues-
day the 10th.
Eight building permits granted for buildings est'matea to

The consideration of bids on pipe,fittings,--Plves and hy&-
rents as then taken up: award on pdpe,gate-valves ani fittings was
deferred until -he 5th. inst.
In the matter of fire hi.rA-rants, the board having received
positive information that these could be purchased in the open Market
cheaper than at the prices ordered, Trustee Crose introduced the
1.ollovriing resolution,
RES:LUTION NO. 137
iesolved that all bids on fire hydrants be rejected and the
same purchased- in the open market, bidders certified checks to be
returned to the senders.
The above resolution No.137 was thereunon adopted by the fol -

The City Fuigiineer zras instructed to prerare plans and spec-
ifications for the improvement of the follovdng streets—
Lockeford Street from -.7est Line of S.P.Co. to;;est Line of
Pleasant Avenue.
Pleasant Avenue from the South line of Locheford Street to
+he !Torth Line of Lodi A-;-enue.
E.-Elr, Street from the East Line of Main Street to the ','est
Line of Cherokee Lane
Church Street from the North Line of Sturla Street to the
1vortherly City Limits.
Trustee Crose addressed the board regazrding the separation of
the offices of City 11—arshal and. Superintendent of Streets owing to the
increasing duties of the offices.
The bill of the Stockton &: Yokelumne Canal Company for the
Construction of or -e of the syphons on their canals -,,.,F-s referred to
the Finance Comm ittee as it was in excess of the amount stated in the
agreement r.i-th the company.
On motion of Trustee Rich, seconded by Trustee Hicicok, and
unanimously carried. bills to the amount of $36322_353 laving been
approve -4 by the Finance Committee were ordered raid.
