RESOLUTION ORDE—PING THE r7ORK RESOLVED, that whereas the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, aid on the 21st. day of Elarch A.D-.1921, pass its Resolution of Intention Nc. 30.- to order the hereinafter described work to be done and improvement to be made in said City, which Resolution of Intention was duly and legally published as required by law, as appears from the affidavit of publication in the LODI SENT-1I2'EL, rade by C.E.PERCIVAL, now on file in the office of the City Clerk Of said City of Lodi; and WHEREAS, notices of the passage of said Resolution of intent- ion No.50, headed "NOTICE OF 1XIFIROVar-EITT", were duly and legally posted along the line of said contemplated work and improvement and in front of all the property liable to be assessed therefore, and on each and every street and highway in the assessment district described in said Resolution of intention, in time, form, manner and number as required by law, -after the passage of said Resiblution of Intention, as appears from the affidavit of R.B.1A-cClu=e, who personally posted the same, and who, upon the completion of the posting of said notices, filed said af?ii&vit in the office of -the City Clerk, making oath that he completed the posting of said notices on the 5th. day of April, A.D.1921; and lh=PEAS, all protests and objections presented have been disposed of in time, form and manner as required by law, the Board of Trustees having found that said protests were made by the owners of less than one-half of the area of the property to be assessed for said improvements, and said Board having now acquired juris- diction to order the proposed improvement, it is hereby, - RESOLVED, that the public interest and convenience require the work herein described and the Boa -rd of Trustees of the 'City of Lodi hereby order the folloitng work to be Lone and improvement to be made in said City, to -wit: -- That Seaton Avenue, in said City-, from the South line of Lodi Avenue to the North line of Tokay Street, BE.I112RO =P: (1) By grading all portions of said Seaton Avenue upon which work is to be clone and improvement made. (2)-3y constructing an hyd_­�ulic concrete curb and gutter along the East side of the rcsdway of said Sep -ton Avenue. (3) By constructing a gutter fifteen (15) inches wiiealong the West side of the roadway of said Seaton Avenue, having an hydraulic concrete foundation four (4) inches thick covered with an asphaltic concrete wearing surface one and one-half inches thick. (4) By paving the,road;ray of said Seaton Avenue between the gutter lines with an asphaltic concrete pavement consisting of an asphaltic wearing surface one and ore -half (1-?;) -inches thick !aid on an asphaltic concrete foundation three (3) inches thick. Excepting, however, from all the hereinabove described work, such portion as is required by law to be kept in order or repair by any person or company having rail road tracks tltereon; and excepting also from all the hereinabove described .,.-ork any of said work already &one to the official grade. In the matter of fire hydrants, the board having received positive information that these could be purchased in the open market cheaper than at the prices ordered, Trustee Crose introduced the follov:ing resolution, ?.ES ✓Lli T I0u 110. 137 Resolved that all bids on fire hydrants be rejected and the same purchased in the open market, bidders certified checks to be returned to the senders. The City :aigineer .ras instructed to prepare plans and spec- ifications for the improvement of the follovi.ng streets:- Lockeford Street from '.lest Line of S.P.Co. to Vest Line of Pleasant Avenue. Pleasant Avenue from the Sout^ line of Lockeford Street to '- he Uorth Line of Lodi A-enue. E.P.1n Street from the Eaat Line of Iain Street to the ,'est Line of Cherokee Lane Church Street from the north Line of Sturla Street to the northerly City Limits. Trustee Crose addressed the board regarding the separation of the offices of City M_-rshal and Superintendent of Streets owing to the increasing duties of the offices. he bill of the Stockton w iokel=e Canal Company for the Construction of one of the syphons on their canals rras referred to the Finance Committee as it was in excess of the amort stated in the agreement lith the company. On motion of Trustee Rich, seconded by Trustee Hickoh, and unanimously carried, bills to the amount of $8632.33 having been approved by the Finance Committee were ordered .aid. nt the order of the President, none dissenting, the board then adliourned until 1.45 P.M.
