HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 04-25-1921c(:_'inutes of Apr. 25 Petitions praying that the board reconsider and re -pea ord- inance No.118, signed with the nenes of one hun=-ed and t:renty- nine persons purported to be duly qualified electors of the City of Lodi were presented and on reading of the same, they were referred to the -City Clerk for verification of the signatures thereto affixed with direction that he file the result of his findings :with the board within ten nays from the date that the above petitions were received. Trustee Grose, seconded by Trustee Hickok, introduced the following motion: - RESOLUTION leo. 132 RESOLUTION CHANGING THE Ii Ala O, CHEROKEE STREET TO SLSHIi uTOIT AVE.IL UF. iH`.E,?.AS, the name of Cherokee Street, in the City of Lodi, is so similar to the name of Cherokee Lane, which bounds said City on the .East, that confusion often arises therefrom, there- fore, - BE IT RESOLVED, that the name of said Cherokee Street, be, and is hereby, changed to, and shall be hereafter desipated and known as, WASHINGTON AVENUE. The above Resolution_ T+o.132 ::'as thereupon adopted by the following vote, to -:Tit: - Ayes, Trustees, Crose, Hickok, Hale, Rich Ind .,:entzomery. Noes, " Bone Absent, None Trustee Rich, seconded by Trustee Hickok then introduced the following resolution in the matter of Seaton Ave. paving: - RESOLUTION No. 133 RESOLUTION OV^X.RU:.II;G PROT ST t`:AS, the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, did on the 21st, day of Merch A.D.1921, pass its resolution of Intent- ion No. 30, to order certain street i.ork to be done and improv- ements to be made in said city, under and in pursuance of the "Improvement Act of 1911", the names of the streets and high- ways proposed to be improved and the location and character of said proposea work being described in said Resolution of intent- ion, which is expressly referred to for further particulars,and r.= --:--EAS, certain owners of prorerty liable to be assessed for said work made written protest or objections in writing and delivered same to the Clerk not later than the hour set for hearing such objection, to -wit; -£3 o'clock P.M. on Monnay the 18th day of April, A.D.1921, and i,'.=.?AS, the consideration c= said protests and the ratter of ordering said proposed work set farth in said Resolution of In'ention, :were regularly postponed and continued until this 25th day of April A.D.1921, at the hour of 8.00 O'clock P.1;% and sain matters coming on regularly to be heard_, the Board of Trustees proceeded to hear the same, and all of said protests or objections, having been dull* her--& and considered, and said Board being required to pass upon the same, it is hereby, - RESOLVED, by the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, that all of the said protests and objections against said work or improvement be, and the same are hereby, overruled and denied. RESOLVED, further, that said Board finds that said protests are made by the owners of less than One-half of the area of the property to be assessed for said improvements.
