The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular
session at 9:00 -D. n. There were present Trustees Fale, Black, Pol-
endorf, Keeney and Deaver.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Upon notion regularly made, seconded and unanimously carried,
the con-pensation of election officers serving at the election of
April 10th, 1916, was j-lxpd at ;5.00 each.
The returns of the election held In the city of Lodi or, the,
above date were canvassed and the result declared by the adoption of
the following resolution.

'WFEREkS, A General Y"uniciDal Election was held In the City of
Lodi, State of California, on llbndky, the Tenth day of April, 1916,
for the purpose-off•plecting two members of the Board of Trustees; a
Clerk an? ex -officio Assessor; a Treasurer; and a Board of Fifteen
Freeholders, to frame a charter for the City of Lodi; and to vote
upon the following propositions:
ProDosition 27o. I.- Shall -the Board of Trustees of the City of
Lodi construct a Municipal SwIriring Tank, at a cost not exceeding
Pronosition No. 2.- Shall the City of Lodi acquire, maintain
and oloerate a Municipal Street Paving Plart?
AND WFZRFAS, It arpears that said election was held and con-
ducted in ac?crdance wit: the general election laws of Ve State,,
so far as the sare were anplicable; and that the Board of'Trustees
gave such notice of election as prescribed by ordinance, and appoint—
?d Boards of Election, fixed their compensation and established elec-
tion 'crecincts and polling places; and that said election was held
and conducted and the votes cast thereat, were received and canvassed
and returns thereon r:a_e in time, form and manner as recuired b"Vl.law;

That Proposition. No. 1, having -received 470 affirmative and
442 negative votes, was carried in the affirmative.
That Proposition No. 2, raving received 625 affirmative and
294 nogativP votes, was carried in the affirmative.
The Clerk and the Treasurer, respectively, before entering upon
the duties of their respective offices, shall execute a bond to the
City oP icdi, in such sum as required by ordinance, which bonds shall
be &:,Droved by the Board of Trustees; the bond of the Treasurer shall
be filed with the Clerk; the bond of the Clerk shall be filed with
the President of the Board.
711 All newly elected officers b?l'o`re entering upon the duties of
the offices to which they have been elected, shall take and subscribe
to ti:P constitutional -oath of office, and file the same with the
Clerk..
Trustee Deaver moved the adoption_ of the resolution as read,
whirr- was seconded by Trustee Folerdorf. The motion was carried by
the following -vote:
Ayes—Trustees Black, Keeney, Deaver, Folendorf and Hale.
Drays— None.
The report of the City Cl?rk for the quarter ending march
31, 1916, was read and ordered filed.
The application. of W. Boden for employment as driver of a
street wrinkling wagon was read and ordered filed.
J. H. Bowling's application for the position of tree, warden
was read and ordered filed.
A permit was granted to Otto Weihe to construct addition to
a building at 15 West Locust street.
