In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi.the following trustees being present: J.14.Blodgett,F.O.Hale, G.E.Lawrence,C.A.R-Ich and L.Villinger. President La',vrence presiding. Attorney Jones present. The minutes of the meeting of Mlar.11.1912.,.--fere read and approved. The following alDplications for building permits were read and granted: F.J.Beatv,dwel'Ling at 225 Flora St.; J.D.Christner.dwelling cor.-,aisy and Sa^ralnento Sts. Wauchope Eros.were granted permission to place one hitching post and E.F.1,71ckel to place twv;o hitching -,Josts. The Executive Coma7ilttee of the Fire Lepartment asked the committee of the Boa. d to meet wit. them on We nesday evening. Agreed. Inspector pepper reported that It would take about 7501 of 6" sewer pipe and 50 Y's to run north on Sacramento Street. On motion,the Sevier Committee was authorized to purchase the same. The Lodi Sentinel nade a request that a special officer be appointed to attend the shows given to the children. They were Informed that an officer would attend. The foliowing resolution ivas read, introduced and unanimous- ly adopted: R-r4CLUTION. 'Alhereas,The Lodi Sentinel in its issue of Mar.7th.,1912,publish- ed what purported to be an interview with Constable Floyd,in ?,,hich said Floyd was credited with :7takinE the statement that he had drunk liquor In the Catawba 01*cb with a "number of. the City Trustees".and. Whereas,the 3oard of Trustees are informed that said Floyd has both denied and affirmed -.akinE such statement to said newspaper, and, Whereas,tne knowledge has come to this Board that said Floyd and one of his deputies have ..ade the statement in public that liquor :as drunk with only one of said trustees,whIch said statement the accused trustee brands as wholly untrue,and. Whereas.the party with whom said deputy asserts ke said trustee ,IrunX liquor in said clu', has "been, dead for no:,e than four years, a rs and the party with whom said Floyd asserts said trustee drunk 110uor is somewhere on the high seas hundreds of miles from LOdi,and, Whereas,the veracity of said trustee has been brought into 244 question; Now Therefore Be It Resolved: That this Board,;:indful of the long,faithful and efficient service of said accused trustee,does hereby express its unbounded confidence in_his honor and truthfull— ness,and Be It Further Resolved: that a eor-,ittee of four be appoint— ed from this Board to thoroughly investigate said matter that.the honor of said Trustee may be vindicated and that the truth be made known to the public.
