City Hall, Lodi, Cal., March 17, 1919.
The Borad of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular
session at 8 o'clock p.m., there being present Trustees Black, -Hale,
Keeney, Crose and "rrontgomery.
Minutes of the previous meeting wefe read and approved.
Building permits were gran�;ed as follows:
C, i:. Kuch, dwelling, lot 4, block 8, Barnhart Tract.
E. E. Van Vlear, private garage 224 Hilborn St.
C. L. Van Buskirk, public Garage, lot 5, block 10, City.
W. H. Cutts, fish market, lot 8, block 31, City of Lodi.
J. 2f. Graham, stable, lot 24, block B, Barnhart Tract.
Amended petition asking for the improvement of Walnut Street
with the requisite frontage signed up, was presented by R. Lower,
which was ordered filed.
C. S. Durston made application for the position of manager
of the Municipal Baths. The application was ordered filed.
Miss Martha Rinn and others representing the Parent -Teachers
Association asked the Board to appropriate funds to the amount of
*200 to support a free clinic for three nonths. The Board offered to
furnish certain equipment for a clinic and advised the delegation
to request the Board of Supervisors to provide the necessary funds.
The Lodi Storage and Milling Company offered to sell to the
city a 60 -foot strip of land for street purposes, between North
School Street and North Sacramento Street, at the North City Limits.
for $1000, .whereupon the following resolution was introduced by

VWFI ELAS, LODI STORAGE, A MILLING COMPXY", a corporation, .are
the owners of the land hereinafter described and have offered to
convey said land to the City of Lodi for the sum of $1000, and
',',MR ,AS, said land, in the judgement of this Board of Trus-
tees, is required by the City of Lodi for Municipal purposes and it
is for the best interest of said City to acquire and purchase said
land, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that said land be purchased by said City of
Lodi, for said total sum of $1000, and uffion the delivery to the
said City of Lodi of a good and sufficient deed, executed by the
owners of said land on or before July 15, 1920, a warrant be drawn
in favor of said LODI STORG.42 & MILLING COMPAITY, a corporation, in
the sum of $1000, to be delivered to said corporation on or before
said July 20, 191L20.
Said land is described as being that certain lot, piece or
parcel of land, situate, lying -and being in the County of San Joa-
quin, State of California. and 'pounded and particularly described
as follows:
"Commencing at the intersection of the east line of North
School Street with the south line of Louie Avenue produced easterly;
running thence easterly and along said production of Louie Avenue
to its intersection with the "nest line of North Sacramento street
produced northerly; thence northerly and along said skeet line of
North Sacramento street produced sixty (60) .feet to a point in the
same; thence westerly and along the North line of Louie Avenue pro-
duced easterly to its intersection with the east line of North
School Street produced northerly; thence southerly and along said r—
production of the east line of :forth School Street sixty (60) feet
to the point of beginning."
Upon ::lotion of Trustee Montgomer7, seconded by Trustee Keeney,
the foregoing resolution, -'io, 38, was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees 1lontgomery, Keeney, Crose and Black.
?goes: Trustee Hale.
Absent: ?Bone.
City Engineer Barzellotti presented a map indicating by bound-
ary line the extent of territory to be included in a district to be
assessed for the improvement of Lee Avenue, from Locust street to
