There were present Trustees ?sale, Black, Keeney, Deaver and Folendorf. Plinutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The following building permits were granted: J. C. Brown, dwelling at 4.28 Tokay street. J. K. Bender,- dwelling lot 7, block 40, City of Lodi. T.W.Hieb,for S.H.-zimmerman,gar age 203 01est oak street. Grav;z�, 1• Son,for H.J.Markham, on resubdivision of lots 2. 3 and 4, bloat 9, Hutchins Addition. Gregg & Son, for H.J.Marki,am, on resubdivision of lots 2,3 and 4, block 9, Hutchins Addition. The application of A. A. Harmon for appointment as tree warden was read and ordered placed on file. The reports of City Marshal Coleman and Supt. of -Sewers Hen- ning were read and ordered filed. A communication from warden Smith of Folsom Prison offering crushed rock for sale was read and ordered filed. A petition bearing 120 signatures was presented and read re- questing the Board to submit to the electorate, of the city at the next election the question: "Shall the City of Lodi Acquire, IMaintain and Operate a Municipal Street Paving Plant." The follorrin.g resolution was introduced and read: RESOLUTION. WS, A petition, numerously signed -by citizens and tax- pay=rs of this city, asking that the question of the establishment and operation of a municipal street paving plant be submitted to the electorate, has been filed with the City Clerk,ther=fore be 1t RESOLVED, That, in substantially the following form, the fol- lowing question be submitted to a vote of th—qualified electors of this city at the Municipal Election to be held in this city on April 10, 1916: Shall the City of Lodi Aquire, Maintain and Operate:y✓S ; a Municipal Street Paving Plant? :NO _--- Trustee Keeney, seconded by Trustee Folendorf, moved the adopt- k ion of the above resolution as read. The motion was carried by the fol- lowing vote.: Ayes -Trustees Hal6,Black, Keeney, Deaver and Folendorf. Noes -None. Tohn P. Treder asked for a permit to install a 120 -gallon gas- oline tank under the sidewalk at 211 North Sacramento street, with a pump next the curb. Upon motion of Trustee Keeney, seconded by Trus- tee Blas,, the permit was granted. The resolution submitting the question of a municipal swimming tank to a vote of the people, which was introduced, read and laid on the tabl=. February 28th was read: ?2ES OLUTI ON. wFTREAS, There has been deposited'with the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, by the Civic Improvement Committee of the Cham- ber of Commerce of Northern San Joaquin County, on behalf of the Boys' Club of Lodi, the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00), to be used in tl­ construction of a Mnicipal Swimming Tank, which said sum rep- resents the voluntary contributions of many people of the community; and WFEERFAS, The Board of Trustees of said city is not fully sat- isfied as to the wisdom, expediency and oublic demand for the expen- diture required for the construction and maintenance of such munici- pal swIT-m-ing tank; therefore be it RESOLVED, That the question of the construction of such mu- nicipal swimming tank ba referred to the people at the re-lular mu- nicival election to be held in said city on the 10th day of April, 1916, and be submitted on the ballot thereof in substantially the folloiT>n_�x form: Shall the Board of Trustees of the City of YES Lodi Construct a MUnicipal Swimming Tank,at a Cost not Exceeding $6000.00?
