The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in adjourned seszion at a:00 p.m. Present Trustees Hale, Black, Keeney, Deaver and Folendorf. Minutes of the previous Meeting were read and approved. Building permits were granted as follows: S.w.Hopkins,to remodel barn and shed at 413 East Plnp.street. F. F. Van Vlear, garage and shop at 354 East .7alnut street. J. A. Klassen, temporary private garage 445 Tokay stre?t. S_7.Walter, remodel barn lot 9, block 8, East Lodi Addition. C.E.Stez!P.r, poultry house on North School Street on Amos Duntor_' s lard. *Mrs. R.F.Bentley applied for position.of matron of the 'ur1- cipal Baths. The application was ordered filed. Thi pacific Telephone k Telegraph Company having applied for the Purchase of a one-half interest in certain_ city poles on Daisy 'venue and the alley between Lockeford and Elm streets, rear 'raztchins street, Trustee Folendorf. ?'loved, seconded by Trustee Ke npy , that sale of a one-half interest in three poles be made as applied for, and an exchange of a one-half interest in one pole on Daisy avenue be effected with the telephone company for a like interest in one pole to -be set by the said company on Daisy Avenue at Lincoln_ Avenue. The motion car- ried unanimously. The report of plumbing inspector leuring for the month of De- cember, 1916, was read and ordered filed. BE IT RESOLVED that it is the intention of this Board of Trus- tees of the Cit?r of Lodi to pave 'rest Oak street in said City of Lodi, and further to declare said west Oak street to be an Eighty -foot street for its entire length, from Sactamer_to street on the Fast to theFutchins street on the n- .st , and a portion Of Said contemplated Eighty -foot street, extending from Pleasant Avenue to said 7zutc.hlns street, is ov.ned by private parties whose lands abuts upon said Oak Street, - IT IS T_::cREFORE FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of tris ?oard be, and he is hereby instructed t0 take the necessary steps to secure deeds from said parties os -,Ing said lard, and in the event that any of the parties cwning said land (meaning a portion of said Eighty -foot street) refuse to make, and execute a deed to the City of,the same, that the City Attorney be, and he is hereby Instructed to commence con- demnation proceedings against such owners withholding deeds. The motion carried by the follow- ing `rote: Ayes: Trustees Keeney, Folendorf, 'Hale, Black and Deaver. 'lays: done. Absent: ?:ore. It was re-gzlarly moved, seconded and carried that the Trus- tees vote by ballot for their choice for caretaker and matron of the laurlicipal Baths. The ballots having been canvassed it was found that T.C.FQrguson and Yrs. Dora Stanfield had received a majority. Trustee Deaver mov?d, secondeai by Trustee Keeney, that J.C. Fer z,uson and ?'S. Dora Stanfield be declared the appointees of the Eoard for the positions of caretaker and matron of the 1"uricipal Baths. The Notion carried unanimously. Upon motion of Trustee Deaver, seconded by Trustee Black, Charles Hamilton was appointed assistant caretaker of the baths. A warrant was ordered drain in favor of P.J.Beaty for t70.70 to pay for waterproofing the side walls and repairing roof and fire era -11 of tT'f City =a11. `� J ;_�e 3oard adjourned.
