This regalar meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Lodi was called to order at 8 o'clock P.M. on the above
date by President J,W.Shattuck; Trustees Fale,Hickok,Elettler,
Spooner and Shattuck present; none absent.
The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of January
ath.,1924 were read and approved as read.
A cornitee from the Lafayette Farm Bureau appeared before
the Board and asked that the meat inspection ordinance now in
force be so modified that meat for personal consumption of the
depositor could be kept in the vaults of the Lodi Ice and Cold
Storage Company without inspection.
Yr J. E. Garri5—an and Dr. IIL'.J.Seeley of the County Health
Board arg-ued in support of the ordinance as enacted, stating
that any modification along the lines suEgested would per-
mit illegal sales of contaminated meats.
On motion of Trustee Spooner, seconded by Trustee Hickok,
a meeting of representatives of the Farm Bureau with officers
of San Joa.Tdin Local Health Ibis ;rich ;.as arranged to be held
before the Board at such a time as md, be convenient to both,
the to notify all parties of the date decided upon.
(I.W.Le 'Yo -in appeared in protest against the location of
a garage erected by liellie Eaton on Hutchins 6treet near Pine
Street and at the order of the Board, the Clerk was instruct-
ed to notify the owner to move the building back to the line
of other buildings on the lot.
Quarterly reports of the City Treasurer and Clerk were
submitted, read and ordered filed.
In the matter of the improvement of that portion of Cent-
ral Avenue south of Vine Street—
A diagram delineating the lands to be assessed for the
improvement contemplated having- been prepared and submitted
by the City Engineer, the same was a�+proved and adopted by
the passage of Resolution No. 441 by the following vote: -
AYES: Trustees, iiickok, tlettler,Hale, Spooner, Shattuck.
NOES: Trustees, None, ABSENT: Trustees, None.

Plans and specifications for the work also having been
prepared and presented, the same were adopted by the passage
of Resolution No. 442 by the following vote: -
AYES: Trustees, Spooner, Hickok, Hale, Mettler, Shattuck.
NOES: Trustees, None. ABMIT: Trustees, None,
Resolution of Intention No, 68, declaring it to be the
intention of the Board to order the improvement of that portion
of Central Avenue lying between the northerly line of Vine
Street and the northerly line of Poplar Street by grading the
same, paving and constructing concrete curbs and gutters was
then adopted by the following vote: -
AYES: Trustees, MeL.-tler,.Hickok,hale, Spooner, Shattuck.
NOD'S: Trustees, None. ABS NT: Trustees, None.-
(Note- Copies of the foregoing resolutions are on file
in the office of the City Clerk together with other papers in
the matter of the improvement of this. part of Central Avenue)
In the matter of the opening of Hutchins Street as under-
taken pursuant to Resolution of intention No.64 passed June
18-1923: the City Attorney presented the several oaths of
o -rice of Corm.issioners appointed, C.R.Van Buskirk, D.;7.Bird
—d',7. E. Taylor together with the bonds in such cases provided.
On motion of Trustee Spooner, secor_ded by Trustee Hale, the bonds
.,ere approved as sufficient and the President of the Board dir-
ected to endorse his approval upon them.
.Bills amounting to $2,980.39 having been approved by the
finance committee were allowed and ordered paid on motion of
Tr stee Mettler.
Six building permits totalling $5,700 were granted.
lr the filing of the vacancies existirg in the membership
of the City Planning Commission: President Shattuck announced the
following appointees: 7. A. Spooner, John C. Begley; and Ueorge
H. bto ore .
On. motion of Trustee Hickok the Board adjourned.
