AGENDA TITLE: Award Contract for Type II Polymer Modified Slurry Seal for Various City Streets, 1999

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt the attached resolution awarding the contract for the
above project to Valley Slurry Seal Company, of West Sacramento, in the amount
of $61,640.57.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project consists of applying 1,189,977 square feet of Type II polymer
modified slurry seal to various City streets, and other incidental and related
work as outlined in the specifications. This work is done annually by
contract.
Specifications for this project were approved on August 4, 1999. The City received the following three bids as shown
on the attached bid tab for this project:

A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
AWARDING CONTRACT FOR TYPE II POLYMER
MODIFIED SLURRY SEAL FOR VARIOUS CITY
STREETS, 1999
WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the
order of this City Council sealed bids were received and publicly opened on August 20,
1999 at 11:00 a.m. for Type II Polymer Modified Slurry Seal for Various City Streets,
1999, described in the specifications therefore approved by the City Council on August 4,
1999; and
WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report
thereof filed with the City Manager as follows:

WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends award of the contract for Type II
Polymer Modified Slurry Seal for Various City Streets, 1999, be made to the low bidder,
Valley Slurry Seal Company of West Sacramento, California.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lodi City Council that the award of
the contract for Type If Polymer Modified Slurry Seal for Various City Streets, 1999, be
and the same is hereby awarded to the low bidder, Valley Slurry Seal Company of West
Sacramento, California in the amount of $61,640.57.
