HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - September 15, 1999 E-11CITY OF NODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Authorize City Manager to Submit Local, State and Federal Grant Applications for Design and Engineering, Remodeling and Construction Grants for the Public Safety Building Project MEETING DATE: September 15, 1999 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing the City Manager to submit local, state and federal grant applications for design and engineering, remodeling and construction grants for the Public Safety Building Project. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City of Lodi will be applying for local, state and federal grants for the various phases of the Civic Center Revitalization Project. The City's first attempt will be a Federal Sustainability Grant for the design of the civic center area. A Transportation Community and Systems Preservation Grant will be pursued for the parking structure, and Petroleum Violation and Escrow Account Grants will be pursued for the remodel (HVAC system, new lighting, new insulation and new windows) of the existing Public Safety Building and Municipal Court, and similar items for the new Public Safety Building. Other funding sources will be pursued as staff becomes aware of them. FUNDING: Not applicable. Dixon Flynn -- 09/07/98 RESOLUTION NO. 99-143 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL GRANT APPLICATIONS FOR DESIGN AND ENGINEERING, REMODELING AND CONSTRUCTION GRANTS FOR THE PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING PROJECT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lodi does hereby authorize the City Manager to submit Local, State and Federal Grant Applications for Design and Engineering, Remodeling and Construction Grants for the Public Safety Building Project; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lodi does hereby authorize the City Manager to execute said grant documents on behalf of the City of Lodi.
