HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2014-179RESOLUTION NO. 2014-179 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL APPROVING THE CITY'S 2014 SEWER SYSTEM MANAGEMENT PLAN UPDATE WHEREAS, the State Water Resources Control Board (Board) adopted the Statewide General Waste Discharge Requirement (Order No. 2006-0003) on May 2, 2006. The Order requires that all public collection systems comprised of more than one mile of pipeline be regulated; and WHEREAS, the Order requires that each operator of a publicly -owned collection system develop and implement a system -specific Sewer System Management Plan. The purpose of the plan is to assure proper funding and management of sanitary sewer systems statewide. Compliance with the Order is also a provision of the City's Proposed Discharge Permit for the White Slough Water Pollution Control Facility; and WHEREAS, on August 6, 2013, the Board adopted Order No. 2013 -0058 -EXEC amending the Monitoring and Reporting Program for the Sanitary Sewer Systems Waste Discharge Requirement; and WHEREAS, among the amendments included in this order is a requirement that the Sewer System Management Plan (SSMP) must be updated every five years and must include any significant program changes. Recertification by the City Council is required, as the City's original SSMP was approved by Council on August 5, 2009. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby approve the City's 2014 Sewer System Management Plan Update.
