A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
APPROVING A SIDE LETTER AMENDING THE
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE
CITY OF LODI AND THE LODI PROFESSIONAL
FIREFIGHTERS EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2014 —
DECEMBER 31, 2014
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby
approve a Side Letter as shown on Exhibit A attached hereto, amending the
Memorandum of Understanding (January 1, 2014 — December 31, 2014) between the
City of Lodi and the Lodi Professional Firefighters as follows:
Article XXII — MEDICAL INSURANCE
22.2 Reinstate Section:
Any employee who is otherwise covered by a medical plan and chooses
not to utilize the full extent of medical coverage available to him or her
and, as applicable, to his or her dependent(s) may opt to receive fifty (50)
percent of the highest HMO plan referenced in 22.1 provided however,
that (a) such election shall only be available to the extent allowed by the
City's insurer, and (b) this shall not be construed to allow individuals
without dependents to receive any portion of the dependent premium.

Side Letter Agreement Amending the Memorandum of Understanding
Between the City of Lodi and the Lodi Professional Firefighters
January 1, 2014 — December 31, 2014
This agreement is entered into between the City of Lodi, a municipal corporation ("City"), and
the Lodi Professional Firefighters ("LPF").
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the LPF and the City has a term of January
1, 2014 through December 31, 2014.
Representatives from the City and from LPF have met and conferred regarding Article 22.2 —
Medical Insurance, and mutually agree to reinstate the following section for the duration of the
LPF MOU that was erroneously removed.
ARTICLE XXII — MEDICAL INSURANCE
22.2 Any employee who is otherwise covered by a medical plan and chooses not to

This Side Letter shall not become effective until approved by the Lodi City Council.
