MEETING DATE: June 16,1999 PREPARED BY: Community Center Coordinator RECOMMENDED ACTION: Presentation. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission, in conjunction with the Lodi Sunrise Rotary Club and Christopher J. Olsen, American Express Financial Advisors, and Central Valley Waste Services is sponsoring a program entitled Honoring Teens. The Lodi Youth Commission Leadership Committee selects one teen to be awarded Teen of the Month from the applications submitted to the commission from the general public, various schools, and church groups. This month's Teen of the Month is Frances Richardson from Bear Creek High School and the Honorary Teen of the Month is Jennifer Ibardoleza from Tokay High School FUNDING: None Required. Frances has maintained a 3.6 GPA while volunteering as a candy striper in a local hospital. She has tutored elementary school students in English, Mathematics, and Science. She is a member of the Kababayan Club where she will be performing in an international week as a Polynesian dancer. June - Honorary Teen of the Month Jennifer Ibardoleza is a Senior at Tokay High School. Jennifer is a member of the Junior Lions Club, (Leo Club), president of the Pacific Filipino Club. She is currently involved in numerous activities and organizations in the Filipino community.
