A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
THREE-YEAR RENEWAL AGREEMENT WITH
ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEMS RESEARCH INSTITUTE,
INC. (ESRI), OF REDLANDS, FOR GEOGRAPHIC
INFORMATION SYSTEM SOFTWARE
WHEREAS, in 2010, the City Council approved a three-year Small Municipal and
County Enterprise License Agreement with Environmental Systems Research Institute,
Inc. (ESRI), which expires in December 2013. The license affords the City legal
authority to use various ESRI software programs to support the City's GIS needs; and
WHEREAS, over the past three years, the City has converted its mapping
software from the old MapGuide system to ESRI, in addition to expanding the internal
use of ESRI software applications. Staff relies on the various ESRI software
applications to perform mapping services that support both public and internal City uses;
and
WHEREAS, ESRI remains the industry leader in GIS technology and staff
recommends extending the ERSI License Agreement for an additional three years at a
total cost of $162,000, payable at $54,000 per year, split evenly between the water,
wastewater, and electric utilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby
authorize the City Manager to execute a three-year renewal agreement with
Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (ESRI), of Redlands, California, for
geographic information system software, in the amount of $162,000.
