A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
PURCHASE AGREEMENTS WITH VARIOUS
VENDORS FOR REDUNDANT NETWORK EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, Information Systems Division will be moving its data center into new
quarters as part of the City Hall Annex renovation project, a process that will take an
entire weekend and involve unplugging, moving, reconnecting, and testing all network
devices in the Annex data center. Without redundant network components in place, the
entire network will be down for most of the weekend; and
WHEREAS, in anticipation of this move, and in an effort to keep fixed network
reads flowing and critical public safety systems operational, staff recommends the
purchase of network equipment that will provide redundancy or "failover" when the main
system goes down; and
WHEREAS, staff has received bids for the equipment, however, some items may
not be available from selected vendors when the City is in a position to order them. Staff
will exercise diligence in selecting a different vendor and purchasing the item at the
same or lesser price; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that City Council authorize the City Manager to
execute purchase agreements with various vendors for the redundant network
equipment at a price not to exceed $56,798.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby
authorize the City Manager to execute purchase agreements with various vendors for
redundant network equipment at a price not to exceed $56,798.
