RESOLUTIOPI NO. 944
RESOLUTION CF INTENTION IN THE ASATTER
OF THE OPEI?ING OI TODAY AITD CHURCH STREETS
WHEREAS, public interest and convenience require,
and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of
Lodi, that the following work and improvement be made in
said City;
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City
of Lodi, County of ban Joaquin, State of California:
(1) That Tokay Street be opened, widened and
extended. from the west line of the Lodi Barnhart Tract"
to the east line of South bacramento Street;, and from the
west line of South Sacramento Street to the west line of
South Church Street extended southerly;
(2) That 6outh Church Street be opened, widened and
extended from itsresent termination at the north line of
Lot 1 in Block 7 op "Hutchins Addition to the Town of Lodi"
to the southern city limits on the nettleman-Terminous Road.
The lands necessary to be tnken therefor are
particularly bounded and described as follows:
Parcel A. - All. those parts of Lots 27 and 26- in "Larson's
Addition" lying south of a line connecting
the southwest ocrner of -block "A" in
"Subdivision of Lot 72, Lodi Barnhart Tract"
and the northeast corner of Lot 19 in
"Beckman `tract" , containing 1,1;-00 square
feet more or less.
Parcel B. - All that part of Lot 29 in ''Larson's
Addition" lying north of a line connecting
the northwest corner of Lot 71 in "Lodi
Barnhart Tract" and the southeast corner
of Lot 19 in the "Beckman Tract", containing
1,250 square feet more or less.
Parcel C. - All of Lot 19 in "Beckman Tract", containing
7,620 square feet more or less.
Parcel D. — All of Lot C in "Beckman `Tract", containing
7,620 -square feet more or less.

Parcel E. - Beginning for the same at a steel axle on
the southeast corner of the land of Lodi
School District in Lot 2, Block 7 of
"hutchins Addition to the Town of Lodi" as
said corner is established by survey of
Clinton Henning, L. S. , filed September 23,
1937 and running thence S 30 50' va along
the southerly projection of the east line
of said school property 29.70 feet to the
southwest corner of the land of r'rederick
ii. Spiekerman et al; thence S 860 10' E
along the south line of the said Spiekerman
property 408.04 feet to a steel axle set
in the west line of South School Street;
thence N 30 52' E along the said west line
of South School Street 83.36 feet to a steel
axle; thence S 860 20' 30" Vu along the easterly
projection of the south line of the said School
property 411.60 feet to the point of beginning
and containing 23,070 square feet more or less.
Parcel F. - Beginning for the same on the southwest corner
of the land of r'rederiek N. Spiekerman., et al
in Lot 2, Block 7 of "Hutchins Addition to the
Town of Lodi" such point being 29.70 feet 5 30
50' E from the southeast corner of the land of
Lodi School District and running thence S 30
50' E along the southerly projection of the
east line of said school property a distance of
49.50 feet; thence S 860 10' E parallel to the
south line of said 5piekerman's land a distance
of 80.00 feet; thence N 30 50' h parallel to the
southerly projection of the east line of said
Lodi School District property a aistance of
29.20 feet; thence N 860 201 30" E parallel to
the easterly projection of the south line of
said School property 155.67 feet to the south
line of said Spiekerman property; thence N 860
10' vu along the south line of the said Jpiekerman
property 234.34 feet to the point of beginning,
containing 3,620 square feet more or less.
Parcel G. The +westerly 80 feet of the following:
Com,.encing at a point on the north line of Lot 1,
Block 7 in "hutchins Ac.di_tion to Lodi" that is
distant 210 feet westerly from the Aiortheast
corner of said Lot 1 and running thence westerly
along the said north line a distance of 230 feet
to the land of LodJ school District; thence
southerly along the east line of said land of Lodi
uehool Vistrict 98.5 feet to the Northwest corner
of the land of one Belson; thence Easterly and
parallel to the north line of said Lot 1 a distance
of 230 feet; thence Northerl parallel to the
center line of South school treet a distance of
98.5 feet to the point of beginning, containing
7,880 Square feet more or. less.
Parcel H. The Vuesterly 80 feet of the followi�;; The
Southerly 50 feet of the Northerly 148.5 feet
of: Comm on the Northeast corner of
Lot 1, Block 7 in "Hutchins Addition of Lodi";
running thence Westerly parallel to the north
line of said Lot 1 a distance of 440 feet to
the land of Lodi School District; thence
Southerly along the easterly boundary of said
land a distance of 297 feet; thence Easterly
parallel to the North line of said Lot 1 a
distance of 44.0 feet to the center line of
Youth School Street; thence Northerly on said
center line a distance of 297 feet to the
P+ortheast corner of said Lot 1 and the point
of beginning, containing 1.,000 square feet
more or less.
Parcel I. - The Westerly 80 feet of the following: Land
included within the boundaries of that certain
survey made by Clinton Henning, L.S., entitled
"Neap of Survey of property of Daisy DA. Pleas",
filed December 1, 1937 being a portion of
Lot 1 in Block 7 as delineated on 'Map of
Hutchins Addition to Lodi'" filed "pril 10,
189 San Joaquin County Records, containing
11,n30 square feet more or less.
Parcel J. - The Westerly 80 feet of: A Portion of Lots 1
and 2 in .dock 7, "hutchins Addition to Lodi";
Corwencing for the same on the west line of South
School Street at a point distant 297 feet southerly
from the north line of said Lot 1; running thence
Southerly on the said vest line of` South School
Street a distance of 312 feet to the land of
one D. S. Burson; thence Vuesterly on and along
tYte north boundary of said uurson's land 409.4
feet to the land of one P. Sturla; thence Northerly
along the east boundary of said. Sturla' s land
and the land of Lodi School District a distance
of 312 feet; thence Dasterly a distance of 409.4
feet to the west line of South School Street
and the point of beginninE, (excepting therefrom
any portion contained in 'Parcel E" herein),
containing 22, 170 square feet more or less.
Parcel K. - The Westerly 60 feet of: A portion of Lot 2
in block 7 of "Hutchins Addition to the 'Town
of Lodi"; Commencing for the same at a point
247.5 feet .Worth. and 165 f e e t West from the
southeast corner of said Lot 2 and running thence
Southerly parallel to South School Street a
distance of 1i_9.5 feet; thence Vesterly 245 feet
to the land of one Sturla; thence Northerly on
Mae east line of said St;zrla's land 1.1.9.5 feet;
thence Easterly 245 feet to the point of
beginning, containing 3,960 square feet more
or less.
Parcel L. - The Westerly 80 feet of: a portion of Lot 2
in Block 7 of "hutehins Addition to the Town. of
Lodi"; Commencing for the same at a point on the
west line of South School Street distant 1,530.50
feet southerly from the section line dividing
Section 1 and 12, Township 3 Morth, lunge 6 Last,
M. D. b. & M., said point being 198 feet north
of the south line of said Lot 2, and running
thence westerly at ri ht angles to Jouth school
Street a distance of 10 feet to the land of one
Sturla; thence Southerly along said Sturla' s
east line 49.5 feet; thence Easterly at right
angles to South School Street )�10 feet to the
west line of said street? thence Northerly 4.9.5
feet to the point of beginning, containing 3,960
square feet more or less.
Parcel Id. - The Vvesterly 80 feet of the Northerly 98.5 feet
of a portion of Lot 2 in Block 7 of 'nutch.ins
nddition to the Town of Lodi"; Commencing for the
same on the V'vest line of South School Street at
a point 148.5 feet north from the s outh line of
said Lot 2 and. running thence Westerly parallel
to the south line of said Lot 2 a distance of
1.1.10 feet to the land of one 6turla; thence Southerly
along the east line of said 6turlal s land 11.1.8.5
feet to the south line of said lot 2; thence
Easterly on said south line ,410 feet to the west

Parcel 0. - The Westerly 80 feet of: Uommeneing on the viest
line of youth School Street at a point 477 feet
Northerly from the south line of Lot 4 in Block 7
of "hutchins Addition to the Down of Lodi"; running
thence Vortherly 7 chains and one foot to the
north line of Lot 3 in Llock 7 of the same sub-

Addition to the 'Town of Lodi; Conuneneing for
the same at a point on the southerly projection
of the west line of South Church Street distant
513 feet south of the north line of Lot 3 in
Block 7 of said Hutchins Addition; running thence

Parcel Q. - A portion of the 6 1.68 acres of the E 3.68
acres of Lot 4 in Block 7 of Hutchins Addition
to the Town of Lodi bounded on the South by a line
127 feet norther]. from and parallel to the south
line of said Lot �; on the Uest by a line connecting
the Oouthwest corner of the land of Elizabeth
IvicClung and a point on the north boundary of
"Bewley Suburban Acres" distant LI -0 feet westerly
Prom the center line of Church Street in said
subdivision; on the North by the south line of
the two acre tract of A. Hothgarn and on the
East by a line connecting a point on the south
boundary of the McClung land distant 80 feet
east of the Southwest corner thereof and a point
on the north line of "Bewley Suburban Acres'
distant 40 feet easterly from the center line of
Church Street in said last named subdivision,
containing 12,800 square feet more or less.
Parcel R. - A portion of Lot 4 in block 7 of "Hutchins addition
to the Town of Lodi" extending 80 feet Easterly
from a line connecting the southwest corner of
the land of Elizabei,h McClung and a point on the
north line of Bewley Ouburban Acres" which is
1.x.0 feet Westerly from the center line of Church
street in said last named subdivision and is
bounded on the aouth by the south line of Lot 4
in Block 7 of said Hutchins Addition and on the
North by a line 127 feet North from the said
south line of Lot 4 and is parallel thereto,
containing 10, 160 square feet more or less.
Parcel S. - A portion of Lot 7 in "Larson's Oubdivision of
the SW 4 of section 12, Township 3 North, Kange 6
East extending 80 feet Easterly from a line
connecting the "outhwest corner of the land of
Elizabeth McClung and a point on the north
line of "Bewley Suburban Acres" which is 40 feet
Westerly from the center line of Church atreet in
said last named subdivision and is bounded on
the 6outh by a line 229.27 feet north of the
south line of said Lot 7 and parallel thereto
and on the North by the north line of said Lot 7,
eontainin 22,400 square feet more or less.
Parcel T. - A portion of the south 5 acres of Lot 7 in
"Larson' s subdivision of the Southwest one-
quarter (SW -0 of Section 12, Township 3 North,
hange 6 East, extending 80 feet Easterly from
a line connecting the Southwest corner of the land
of Elizabeth McClung and a point on the north line
of "Bewley Suburban Acres" which is 40 feet
westerly from the center line of Church Street
in said last named subdivision and is bounded
on the south by the south line of said Lot 7 and
on the Ivorth by a line 229.27 feet north of the
south line of saict Lot 7 and is parallel thereto,
containing 18,341 square feet more or less.
Parcel U. - The Easterly 15 feet of Lot 5 in Block 1. in
"hap E of Bewley Suburban Acres" containing
1,500 square feet more or. less.
Excepting and excluding from any and all of said parcels
any part thereof lying within any dedicated ,public street, alley
or avenue.
The exterior boundaries of the district of lands
to be affected and benefited by said work and improvement, and
to be assessed to pay the damages, costs and expenses thereof
are the exterior boundaries of the City of Lcdi as said boundaries
exist at the date of the adoption of this resolution, it being
the intention of this City Council that such part of said damages,
costs and expenses of said work and improvement as may not be
offset by the bene fits thereof shall be paid from moneys accrued
or accruing to the City of Lodi from taxes on gasoline collected
by the State of California and particularly allocated to major
streets.
The "Lodi Times" being the official newspaper of said
City of Lodi, is hereby desimated as the daily newspaper in
which the street superintendent's notice of the passage of this
resolution shall be published for a period of ten clays and the
Street Superintendent shall post notices of the adoption of this
resolution along the line of the work, all in the time, form and
manner as provided by law.
