BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City Clerk's Office has received a notice that the United States of
America Federal Energy Regulatory Commission will hold a public meeting
with Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) the applicant for the
Mokelumne Hydroelectric Project No. 137, the U.S. Forest Service, and other
interested parties to discuss alternatives for completing the process of this relicense (Exhibit A). This is information
only, no Council action is required.

Take notice that the Commission staff will hold a public
meeting with Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) the applicant
for the Mokelumne Hydroelectric Project No. 137, the U.S. Forest
Service, and other interested parties to discuss alternatives for
completing the processing of this relicense.
The project is located on the Mokelumne River in Amador and
Calaveras Counties, California. The meeting will be held on
Wednesday, May 5, 1999, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the PG&E
offices, 2740 Gateway Oaks Drive, in Sacramento, California.
Expected participants need to give their names to David Moller
(PG&E) at (415) 973-4696 so that they can get through security.
All interested persons are invited to attend the meeting.
