HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 589349 Council Chambers -City Hall City of Lodi, July 15,1929 This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi was called to order by the Mayor at 8.15 ?:t. on the date and at the Rlace first above written, Councilmen Road-, Shattuck, deihe and opooner present, Councilman Hale, absent. The minutes of the last regular meeting held July lst.,1929 were read, a_:proved as read and so endorsed by the Mayor. The order of Public Hearings was passed and the Council pro- ceeded to the hearing of communications and reports. The Clerk read letters from Yr. J.D.Gallociay and frau Mr Charles Grunsky accepting their appointments as consulting eng- ineers as authorized by t,esolutions 585 and 586 adopted July 1st and the same were ordered filed. T ecAX. T.A.Beredict providing a fair price could be obtained. lir Forrest L. Cooper, Poundmaster, applied for an increase in pay stating that his duties in the park end as Poundmaster made the increased of his automobile necessary and that he had to work at night on many cases. On motion of Councilman Roach, Shattuck second, Mr ooper was allowed $125.00 monthly as salary It appearing that the City Treasurer had been able to make a very advantageous purchase of outstanding obligations of the City ::hereby the Special Bond Retirement Fund had been overdrawn and that he had transferred the sum of $912.27 to this fund from the General Fund awaiting sanction of the City Council his action was approved and the above sura ordered transferred by the adopt- ion of -Resolution No. 589 by the following vote: - AYES: Councilmen Shattuck, lieihe, Roach and Spooner. NOES: Councilmen, None. ABSENT: Councilman dale. RESOLUTION NO. 589. . RESOLVED, that the transfer of the sum of 8912.27 here- tofore transferred by the City Treasurer frau the General Fund to the Special Bond Retirement Fund be approved and said transfer id hereby authorized and directed. On application of tie City Cletk, he was authorized to trade in the old"Dalton" adding machine in his office for a new model of the same make. On motion of Councilman Roach, ieihe second, lir J.A.Henning was directed to furnish Mr J.D:Galloway with certain information needed by him•in his capacity as consulting engineer of the City and also to incur such traveling expense as might be necessary_ in consulting with Mr Galloway in his offices at San Francisco. Five building permits agggregating $3,200.00 were granted. Audited claims numbered frau 12423 to 12598 in the total amount of $5,308.18 were allowed and ordered paid, the claim of The Lodi Sentinel for $211.19 being reduced to $3.99 as their bill for $207.20 for publication of the delinquent tax list was witheld from payment until the legalityb‘f the charge could be investigated.
