Lane within the next biennium, the said Cherokee Lane being. a. portion of U. h �. ..i rway No. 99 and a part of the highway system of the State of Califor- nia abutting' on the easterly boundary of the City of Lodi; AND, l" R AS, the Department of Public ,orfs of the State of California has offered to increase the width of the p -vire to be installed b; the state from twenty feet to thirty feet alon that Portion of the roadway abutting. on the Pared streets of this City prodding. that thirteen foot strips on each side be Pared and improved with mono- lithic curbs and gutters at the same time that the State improves the center portion; AID, :7}L 2 :AS , the improvement o- Cherokee Lane will be a great bene fit to the •^.it-, of Lodi, Particularly if the width of the pa-ement be extended to fifty-six feet from L ocke ford Street to Harold. Street, as aforesaid; 3E IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lodi, that this City C ounc it hereby approves of any and all efforts that may be nut forth to secure the widenir.; of the pavement and the installation of curbs and gutters, and that this City Council hereb:; approves the tentative plans submitted by the Department of Highways and hereby offers its co-operation to the Division of Public Works and to the 3oard of Supervisors of San Joaquin County in order to accomplish this end and will aid the performance of said work financially or otherwise; RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be delivered to Lir. R. J. Pierce, District Engineer of the Division of Highways, Department of Public ',:orfs of the State of Calif- ornia; a copy to :ir. r:.
