The minutes of the reaaular meeting held January 7th. and the
adjourned regular meeting Held January 9th_.,1929 were'read, app-
roved as read and so endorsed by the _aycr.
ayor Spooner directed the attention of the Council to a

from the hands of fifth and sixth class cities and vest it in

Jeihe second, the Clerk was directed to cor:rur_icate with the
Senator and Aesembly-an from this district and state to them that
the 'City Council disc' ro`:ed of this effort to do away with local
control of peace officers and ask the: to use their efforts to
have the bill defeated.

Pursuant to order of the Council, the Clerk read a copyof
a resolution separating the offices of Street Superintendent and
Chief of : olice and consolidating the offices of =ire Chief and

A the direction of the City Council, the City Attorney was
directed to communicate with Ir. Nelson A. 3ckeart, assistant
City Engineer cf the City of San Francisco and obtain a for:al
sta event of the amo_:nts and conditions under 'which he would
sutr:it a report on ;he feasibility of the Colorado Power Company
proposition with proper estimates covering cost of c:nstruction
and ultieate costperkilo-watt for _.he power delivered at Lodi.
Bills in the amount of 53,63?.65 as ae roved by a majority of
the Finance Coemittee were allowed and ord red paid on motion of
Councilman Shattuck, jeihe second. The claim of Lodi volunteer
Fire Department for incidental expenses was allowed for $15.00
less than the amount claimed asp here rias no record of the raise
of the -Secretary's salary from a5.. 0 to $10.00 monthly.
