This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Lodi .,as called to order at 8.10 o'clock P. In
.e absence
of the City Clerk, Councilman ?..;.Shattuck filled the vacancy
at the request cf. the 'Payor. On roll call Councilmen Hale,
Roach,Siattuck,- Teihe and Spooner were present, none absent or
tardy.
The minutes of the regular meeting of October 15th and
the special reeting of October 20th.,1928 were read, a_proved
as read and so endorsed by the mayor.
City Librarian :iss Amy L. Boynton being present; addres-
sed the Council extending to all City officials an invitation
to be present at the official onerin of the new librarj
building on the evening of Tues'clay "Fovember 13th.,1928.
Bids for the furnishing of a iz Ton truck for the Elect-
rical De:;artment were received from the Krieger Motor Company
and Clark Chevrolet Company and publicly opened and consiaer-
ed. After explanation o the Clark Company's bid as to size
of the truck'body, ward .,as Wade to that Company by the pas-
sage of Resolution of Award No. 562 by the following vote: -
AYES: Councilmen Teihc,Roach Hale,Shattuck s Spooner
CES: Councilmen, :Tone. ABS1UT, Lone.

his a:nlication for connection of his place on- Cherokee Lane
and Mine Street to the Cit•r's water mans and after detailed
discussion, the Superir_tenaent of Public Utilities was direct-
ed to make such connection at the ex ease of the City after
procuring an easement that would relEit installation of all
ubl is utilities across his land. This was done on Notion of
0curcil_ma_n ,eine, Roach second.

Letters from the California Automobile Association and+from
an association in favor of the State Park Bond Issue were
ordered filed.
On motion of Ccunci-1*nan Hale Roach second, the Chief
of Police was instructed to place to Parking in Alley"
signs at the :?ool:orth building and T �- D Theatre building.

7.P.Roper asked that the Council take advertising space
ir. the Lodi Sentinel for their forthcoming iasue advertising
the Lodi Public Library. '.`a ter tabled.
The Superintendent of Public Utilities was instructed
to install sprinklers in the newly sown lawn at the ball park.

On motion of Councilman ieihe, Roach second, the City
Attorney was instructed to draw up an ordinance prohibiting
the erection of gasoline curb pumps.
Five building permits a-& eating $2,275.00 were grant-
ed; the application of H.:..17adison for permission to repair
fire da^.ared building at 33-35 C Sacra_.ento Street .,as ref-
erred to ohe Fire Chief for report. The a:.plication of H.Fir.k
