The City Council of the City of Lodi met in regular
session at 8.00 o'clock P.L. ori the date first above writ-
ten, Councilmen Hale; Roach, Shattuck, Jeihe and Spooner
present, none absent.
The minutes of the special meeti of April 18th and
the adjourned regular meeting of April 23rd.,1928 were read,
ayproved as read and so endorsed by the Mayor.
?his being the date set by notice duly published for
the reception of sealed proposals for sewer pipe and wyee,
the Clerk reported four proposals and the same being public-
ly opened, were as follows: -

all bidding on S.G.V.pipe except Spiekexman.
After consideration_ of the proposals received, award was,
made to Ed.Spiekerman as the lowest and best bidder by the
passage of Resolution of Award No. 546 b■ the following vote,
AYES, Councilmen ,;eihe,S'rattuck Ha1e,Roach & Spooner
NOES, . None. ABS 1 , Iu one .
Proposals on the purchase of the dwelling house in the
rear of the Library were received as follows:-
J.C.Jacobson $ 126.00
Albert Newman $ 150.00
'::ax Leetsow $ 321.50
The Council deemed all zroposals below the true value of
the building and ordered all proposals rejected.

City Engineer !.F.Barzellotti presented plans and spec-
ifications for partition walls in the sludge drying beds at
the sewage disposal plant and the same were approved and
adopted by the passage of Resolution_ No. 544 b;;r the following
vote: -
AYES: Councilmen Shattuck,Hale,Roach,. eihe & Spooner
Cr_ motion of Councilman-.:eihe, Shattuck, second, -he'
City Clerk was directed to advertise for sealed proposals for
the general contract for additions to the Carnegie Library,
proposals to be opened June 4th.,1928.
On motion of Councilman Jeihe, Roach second, the City
Clerk was directed to secure prices on an additional 52 opera
chairs for the Chamber of Commerce auditorium. •
Four building permits totalling $1,600 were granted.

Bills in the amount of $15,145.63 as approved by the
Finance Committee were allowed motion Councilman Shattuck.
et ;he application of G.B.Vailerga, one Of the pro-
prietors of Sanitary City Scavenger Company, it -appearing that
there is to be a change in the Company organization, the City
Attorney was authorized to dray up a new contract for sub-
mission at the next meeting of the Council by'the passage of
Resolution No. 545 by unanaimous vote.
