?he City Council of the City of Lodi met in regular meet-
ing at 8 05 o'clock P.11. at the place and on the date first
above written Councilmen Hale, Roach, Shattuck and layor Spooner
present at roll call, Councilman ,ieihe appeared during the read -
,aa of the minutes and took his seat.
The minutes of the regular meeting of February 20th. ,
1928 were read, approved as read aad so endorsed by he :=ayor.
Fire Chief E.H.Stark as -_ed that a table be returned to
the former council chamber in the old City Hall as this room
was used by tie Fire Department for its meetings. He :,as infor -
cd that the table was taken for temporary use elsewhere and
would be returned. shortly -Hr. Stark also asked that the doors
to the fire truck room in the old. City Hall. buildirg be kept
locked when no driver was on duty. Superintendent Henning was
directed to have fastenings put on these doors.
The Clerk read a letter from the Chief of the Bureau of
Sanitary Engineering, State of California, advising the Council
that he, in company; with several engineers and parties inter-
ested in activated -sludge sewage disposal would-be in Lodi on
March 9th. and desired to meet any members of the City Council
that might care to do so. The -Clerk was directed to notify
the various members and employees of the City concerned with
these matters of the arrival of this party and the Mayor of-
fered transportat i on to the se:-ra=e disposal plant.
Tokay Theatre at 21 Fest Elm Street applied for per-
mission to place a 1500 aallon fuel storage tank in the rear
of the builairg, same to be buried in the alley and installed

in accordance with :ire underiters specifications. On motion
of Council an Hale, .ieihe second, the permit was granted.
at the suggestion of Councilman .7aihe, the Clerk having
read a proposal tor burglary insurance, this insurance in
the amount -of $1000 burg-4_ary and $1000 messenger was author-
ized.

That four precincts be and the same are herebji establish-
ed in said City for the purpose of holding and conducting said
election said precincts to consist of a consolidation of the
state and county precincts hereinafter designated, viz:-

county precincts numbers 1,2,3,a 5 and the polling place thereof
shall be at Hew City Hall,Pine Street at Pleasant .'enue and
the officers to conduct said election in paid precinct shall be:

he c.nmensation of each of the officers herein a point-
ed and to any elector so serving, should any of said officers
be unable to act, is hereby fixed at Seven Dollars and Fifty
Cents (S7.50) said sum to be in full for all services render-
ed, provided, that no payment shall be made unless the officer
shall have served from the opening of the polls to the comp-
letion of the c,:unting of the ballots.
