HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2010-136RESOLUTION NO. 2010-136 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZINGTHE CITY MANAGERTO SUBMIT SAFE ROUTE TO SCHOOL GRANT APPLICATION TO CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENTOF TRANSPORTATION (CALTRANS) WHEREAS, the City of Lodi, in conjunction with the Lodi Unified School District, has been successful in receiving funds from the Safe Route to School program, which is intended to improve and enhance the safety of pedestrian and bicycle facilities; and WHEREAS, staff recommends submitting an application, in cooperation with Lodi Unified School District, for environmental review, engineering, and construction costs for the Tokay Street/Union Pacific Railroad pedestrian and bicycle improvements, including the construction of pedestrian automatic gates, barrier channelization/fencing , sidewalk, detectable warning devices, asphalt pavement, bicycle facility, rail flangeway filler material, and traffic control signage. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the submittal of a grant application in the amount of $500,000 for the Caltrans Safe Route to School Program for the project listed above; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute the grant application on behalf of the City of Lodi.
