Resolved,by the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi,in
the County of San Joaquin,State of Cali_"'ornia,that the public inter-
est and convenience require tr:e doinr, in Said City of the Street
work hereinafter described.and Lrat the sa_-me.in accordance with the
Resolution of intention 42,adopted one t}:e fifth dais of October,1911,
should be chargeable for the codt and expense thereof;( -Pon the assess-
went district hereinafter described.and tre said Board of Trustees
hereby orders that said street work be done.to-wit:
. That Sacramento Street from the north line of Lodi Avenue to
the south line of Lockeford Street,excepting that portion thereof
north of a curved line two feet south from the southernmost rail
of the Southern Pacific Railroad;that =.ln Street from the east line
of School Street to the west line of Sacramento Street and from the
east line of Sacramento Street to a line two feet west from the
westernmost rail of the Southern Pacific Railroad; and tiiat Fine
Street from the east line of School Street to the west .line of
Sacramento Street ( except such portions thereof as are required by.

law to be kept in order or repair by any person or comY.any a��inS

railroad tracks thereon and excepting,such portions thereof as are

occupied by concrete sidewalks thereon) be graded to the official
grade;that along the road^,ay Sides thereof (excepting the S:•_,th
roadway line of said Pine Street Immediately frontinE lots 16,17 and
18 in block number 16) a concrete curbing six inches wide be con-
structed; that alon- said above described roadway sides of `.acramento.

curbing shall be o_ a death extending; from curb grade to the bottom
of the abutting concrete foundation hereinafter provided for; that
along the main roadway sides of said Pine Street,said curbing shall
be of a depth extending from, curb grade to the bottor.; of the abutting
concrete gutters hereinafter provided for;that upon the sub -grade

said first described portions of Sacramento and Elm Streets.r,&�a a

on said concrete foundation; that aloe: said above described portions
of the r0dway sides of Pine Street,said above described gutters
shall be six inches thicK; that for the main roadway of said Pine
Street.the present macadam surface shall be taken for a sub -grade
and thereupon laid an, asphaltic binder to a height and cross-section
one and orae -half inches below surface Crade;that over all of the road-
-ray of said first described portions of Sacramento and Fln Streets,
except all gutter areas heretofore provided for.an asphaltic binder
course one inch thick shall be laid;thst over all of the roadway of
said first described portions of Sacramento,B11 and Pine Streets,ex-
cept all gutter areas heretofore provided for,an asphaltic wearing
course one and one-half inches thick be laid. Fxceptirg;.however,such
portion of Sacramento Street as is required by law to be kept in
order or repair by any person or comm any having railroad tracks there-
on.
That in Li:e opinion of the said Board of Trustees,the above
described wore: is of more than ordinarg ?nzolic benefit,and it is by
said Board hereby declared that the costs and expense of said con -
ter -plated work be,and hereby are made chargeable upon the assessment
district hereinafter described,and that the exterior boundaries of
such districts are described as follows.to-wit:-
Beginning at the northeast corner of block number %l,said
corner beinZ, on the west line of the Southern Pcific Railroad right
of way ,thence southerly along said west line of said rig} t of tay
to the north line of _l:n Street;thence easterly along said north line
of Elm Street to the center line of said right of way; thence south—
erly along said center line of said right of way to the south line
of Elm Street;thence westerl?r along said south line of Fln Street
to said west lime of said rlZht*, of way; thence southerly along said
wes� line of Said right of way to the north lire of Lodi Avenue; thence
southwesterly along said north line of said Lodi Avenue to a point
half way between Sacra -mento and School Streets; thence northerljr and
parallel with said School Street to the center of block number 16,
said center of said block being also the center of the Junction of
two alleys; thence westerly along the center line of one of said alle;rs
to the east line of School Street; hence northerly along the east line
of said School Street to t -.e center lino, of the alleyrunniini east

and west through' the center of bloc: na.ber 14. thence easterly along
said center line of said alley to the center of said block number 14;
thence nbrtherly parallel with said School Street to the south line
of said Lockeford Street; t:rence easterly alon- said scuVh line of
said Loeokeford Street to tae point of beginning; all of said lots,
blocks, streets, alleys. avenues. right of way,etc.being as shown and
delineated on the offi.2ial nap and plat of said Cite of Lodi by
F. E. Quail. County Surveyor.approved as and declared to be the official
flap of said City by the Boars of Trustees of said City on the
sec -Ind day of March,1908.
That the aforesaid described district is hereby declared to be
the district benefited by said work.and shall be assessed to priy the
costs and expenses thereof.
Said wor): scall be done in accordance with the plans and
specifications adopted for the street work .provided by Resolution
No.Cne of this City and adopted Juls- 17,1911.
The City Clem of said Cit;- is hereby directed to post Mx
notice with speci_'icat ions,conspi^uo?isly for five days,on or near
the C:uncil Chamber door of said 'Board of Trustees, inviting sealed
proposals or bids for doing the said word: hereby ordered; and said
City ;ler. is further directed to publish in "THE LOLI SENTINEL
(WeeRly Edition)" a weekly newspaper.t»iblishe t and circulated in
said City.notice inviting sealed proposals for said worY,and referr—
ing to the specifications posted or on file; and he shall :talo such
publication twice in said newspaper,by two conse•clitilre insertions.
Such sealed proposals or bids will be received up to the
hour of S:CC o'clock ?.I.. on t,e fourth day of Jecenber,1911,which
hour is hereby fixed as the time for opening such pro-posals or bids.
Upon notion of Trustee Rlod-ett,seconded by Trustee
Vii='rZer,the foreZoing resoliztion was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Trhstees J.!'..Elodgett.G.E.Lawrence and L.!•'i11inger.
Noes: 7rustee C.A.Rich. Absent: Trustee
