HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 1044IN THE CITY COUNCIL CITY CE LODI RESOLLJIION NO. 1044 RESOLLJIION DECLARING RESULT CF ELECTION WHEREAS, a general municipal election was held and conducted in the City of Lodi on Tuesday, the 9th day of April, 1940 as required by law, AND WHEREAS, it appears that notice of said election was duly and legally given, that voting precincts were properly established, that election officers were appointed and election supplies furnished, and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat received and canvassed, and the returns thereof, made, determined and declared in time, form and manner as required by the general laws of the State providing for and regulating municipal elections in cities of the fifth and sixth class, AND WHEREAS, the City Council of said City of Lodi met at the council chamber thereof on Monday, the 15th day of April, 1940 to canvass the returns of said election and install the newly elected officers; and whereas the council finds as a result of said canvass that the number of votes cast, the names of the persons voted for, and other matters required by law, to be as hereinafter stated, now therefore it is hereby RESOLVED, determined and declared as follows: That said regular municipal election was held and conducted in the Oita+ of Lodi, California on Tuesday, the 9th day Of April, 1940, in time, form and manner as required by law. -1- That there were five voting precincts established in said City, for the purpose of holding said election, as follows: Consolidated Voting Precinct A, consisting of State and County election precincts numbers 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7 as established for holding state and county elections; Consolidated Voting Precinct B, consisting of State and County election precincts numbers 4, 5, 8 and 9 as established for holding State and County elections, Consolidated Voting Precinct C consisting of state and County election precincts, 10, 11, 13 and 19 as established for holding State and County elections; Consolidated Voting Precinct n consisting of State and County election precincts numbers 12, 14, 15 and 16 as established for holding State and county elections, Consolidated Voting Precinct E consisting of State and County election precincts, numbers 17, 18 and 20 as established for holding State and County elections; That the whole number of ballots cast in said City of Lodi at said election was 2108; That the names of the persons voted for, the officers for which they were voted, the number of votes received by each of said persons in each of said precincts, together with the whole number of votes which they received in the entire City, are as follows: Names of rersons voteau"or For Councilman,. Bull was elected a member of the city council for the full term of four years from and after Monday, April 15, 1940 and until his successor is elected and qualified; W. E. Riggs was elected a member of the city council for the full term of four years from and after Monday, April 15, 1940 and until his successor is elected and qualified; -3- J. F. Blakely was re-elected as City Clerk for the full term of four years from and after Monday, April 15, 1940, and until his successor is elected and qualified; J. Hamilton Davis, was re-elected as City Treasurer for the full term of four years from and after Monday, April •15, 1940 and until his successor is elected and qualified. 0 I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution No. 10141 was adopted by the city council of the Oity of Lodi at a meeting thereof held Monday, April 15, 1910 by the following vote: AYES = Councilmen, Graffigna, VVeihe, Clark and Steele NOES = Councilmen, -Pone ABSENT: Councilmen, Spooner �C3t1g%lerk
