HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 1006In the City Council City of Lodi Lodi, California RESOLUTION NO. 1006 WHEREAS, on the 7th day of September, 1939, this City Council received a petition asking that certain inhabited territory therein described be annexed to the City of Lodi and the City Clerk has filed his written report stating that five of the signatures annexed to said petition are those of registered electors residing within said territory, the same constituting more than one fourth of the total registration therein; BE IT RESOLVED, that this City council of the City of Lodi does hereby declare its intention to order to be called and to call an election within said territory and hereby gives notice that such election will be held not less than fifty (50) days from the date of the adoption of this resolution for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors residing within said territory the question whether said territory shall be annexed to this City and after such annexation, be taxed. equally with property within the present City of Lodi for the payment of bonds and interest thereon issued and outstanding at the date of the filing of said petition and at the date of said election. The territory described in said petition and in which the said election is to be held and which is herein proposed to be annexed to the City of Lodi is bounded and described as follows and for the purposes of said election and annexation, shall be designated "TWELFTH ADDITION" ; Commencing on the point of intersection of the present westerly boundary line of the City of Lodi with the north line of West Lockeford Street and running thence Westerly on and along the said north line of West Lockeford Street; to its intersection with the northerly continuation of the west line of •Lot six (6) in Block Thirteen (13) of Hutchins Addition to Lodi; thence Southerly on and along the said west line of Lot Six (6) and its northerly continuation to a point five hundred forty six (5L 6) feet northerly from the center line of West Oak Street, (the said center line being also the south line of said Lot Six (6)); thence Westerly, parallel to and distant five hundred forty six (5!i.6) feet northerly from the said center line of West Oak Street to the west line of the SE 4 of Sect. 2, T3N, R6E; thence Southerly five hundred seventy six (576) feet on and along the said west line to the south line of West Oak Street projected westerly; thence Easterly, on and along the said south line of West Oak Street to its intersection with the present westerly boundary line of the City of Lodi; thence Easterly, Northerly, Easterly and Northerly on and along said westerly boundary line to the point of beginning. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that this City council does hereby designate WEDNESDAY, the 18th day of October, 1939 at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. and the Council Chambers of this City Council as the time and place when and where owners of real property within said proposed district will be heard in objection to the annexation of the same to this city. Such objections must be in writing and may be filed at any time prior to the hour herein set for hearing. 0 The foregbing Resolution No. 1006 was regularly introduced, read and adopted at an adjourned regular meeting of the City council of the City Of Lodi held on Friday, the 22nd day of Sept— ember, 1939 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen, Graffigna, Weihe, Clark, Spooner and Steele.
