HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - December 4, 1996AGENDA TITLE: Purchase of Vehicles for Street Crime Unit MEETING DATE: December 4, 1996 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the Council award the purchase of sedans to various vendors for the Street Crimes Unit of the Police Investigations Division. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On November 16, 1996, the City Council approved the specifications and authorized advertising for bids for vehicles and authorized purchase of support equipment for the Street Crimes Unit. Bids will be opened for the four (4) types of vehicles on November 27, 1996. A recommendation for purchase on the vehicles will be brought to the Council before the meeting of December 4, 1996. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On November 6, 1996, the City Council approved the specifications and authorized advertising for bids for vehicles, and authorized purchase of support equipment for the Street Crimes Unit of the Police Investigations Division. Bids were opened for the four (4) types of vehicles on November 27, 1996. One bid was received for each the S-10 Pickup and the Monte Carlo; two bids were received for the Thunderbird and Mustang sedans.
