In regular session of the Board of Tnustees of the City of
Lodi t_12re were present Trustees )Black, Crose, Montgomery and More-
head. Trustee Fale absent.
Minutes of tha meeting of Tuly 7th were read and approved.
Building permits wereanted as follows:
R. I. Crow, dwalli ^g, 605 N. Scinool St . ,
Walter Turner, addition to dwelling, 23 N. Church St.
Hiroshima Ya Hotel Company, add to buildino,cor lain and Pine.
D. Garofolo, dwelling, lot 13, block C, Barnhart Tract.
S. W. ;wiassic$, private garage, 118 N. Sacramento St.
E. L:. Bailey,. Ice cream stand,lot 27, block A,Barni:art Tract.
Setchell Fruit Company, fruit packing shad, lots 15, 16 and
17, A, Lodi Barnhart Tract.
The City Clerks report for the quarter ending Tune 30, was
read and referred to the financt, eomittee.
The president of the Board was authorized to aim the annual
meter contract with_ General Electric Company.
A communication was received from Baton & Buckley enclosing
a died transferring to the City of Lodi lot 14, block A, of the Lodi
Bar=- art Tract for use as a public street. The matter was referred
to the City Attorney.
In response to Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals in the mat -
tar of
ultha improvement of North Sacramento street, which notice was
dy published and posted according to law., bids were received from
Federal Construction. Company, rag:Z Crummey and Clark do Henery Con-
struction Company. After canvassing the bids the following resolu-
tian was introduced by Trustee Montgomery.
RESOLUTION OF AWARD.
WrH=ALSP the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, did,
in open sessions, on the 213t day of July, A. D. 1919, publicly open,
examine, and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing certain
street work in said city, under and in pursuance of the "Improvement
Act of 19119, the rame of the streets and highways proposed to be
imp_ove4 and the location and character of said proposed work being
de3-ribed In the Resolution of Intention No. 22, cif said Board of
Trustees, adopted Jure 2nd, A.D.1919, which Resolution of Intention
is hereby expressly referred to for further particulars;
RESOLVM , that -the said Board of Trustees hereby reject
all of said proposals or bids except that next herein mentioned,
and hereby awards the contract for doing said work and improvement
to the lowest responsible bidder, to -wit:- CLARK & IMNErZY CONSTRUC-
TION COMPANY, at the price named in its bid.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to post notice of this
award conspicuously for five days, on or near the Council Chamber
door of this Board of Trustees and also publish said notice three
times it TIM LODI SENTINEL, a tri -weakly newspaper published and cir-
culated in said City, and hereby `disi-g7ated for that purpose by said,
Board, said newspap-3r being the official newspaper of said City of
Lodi.
Upon motion of Trustee lontgomery, seconded by Trustee
Orose, the foregoing resolution of award was adopted by the follow-
ing Vote;
:lyes: Trustees Montgomery, Crose, Morehead and Black.
Noes; None.
Absent: Trustee Hale.
Wilkinson Brothers askad for transfer of their card room
license from No. 29 North Sacramento street to ,,o. 25 tiortiz Sacra-
mento street, whicii upon motion of Trustee Crose, 3=condea by Trus-
tee :Zo.:t,:xomery, was granted.

Setehell Fruit Company would appy/ for permit to extend a 3_de track
of ti:i;! Central ^,alifornia Taction Company south on Seaton Avenue
to their fruit Dacking shed now being built on lots 15, 16 and 17,
bloc A, of the Lodi Barnhart Tract.
