HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - December 18, 1996 (89)AGENDA TITLE: Acceptance of Improvements Under Lodi Lake Park Office Project Contract MEETING DATE: December 18, 1996 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council accept the improvements under the "Lodi Lake Park Office Project" contract and direct the City Engineer to file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder's office. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The project was awarded to Cypress Modular, Inc., of Walnut Creek, on December 20, 1995 in the amount of $77,697. The contract has been completed in substantial conformance with the plans and specifications approved by the City Council. The final contract price was $77,697, the same amount as the contract award. The contract completion date was July 10, 1996 and the actual completion date was November 8, 1996, The Parks and Recreation Department began using the building on August 5, 1996. The delay in accepting the project was due to numerous problems with the installation of the tile roof. Some tiles did not lay flat, paper was exposed along the eaves, and the tiles were not lapped uniformly across the roof. Cypress Modular had its roofing subcontractor replace the entire roof, and this work was not completed until last month. FUNDING: As determined at contract award. Prepared by Wesley K.
