HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - December 4, 1996 (21)F LODI (; ('� O COUNCIL COMMUNICATION r AGENDA TITLE: Purchase of Rainbird Maxicom Irrigation Components for Lodi Lake Park MEETING DATE: December 4, 1996 PREPARED BY: Parks and Recreation Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council authorize the purchase of Rainbird Maxicom components for an irrigation system at Lodi Lake Park. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: At the October 29, 1996 Council Shirtsleeve meeting, Dwight Dauber, parks superintendent, outlined the Rainbird Maxicom computerized irrigation system. It was discussed at that time of the need to implement this system into our maintenance program. These irrigation components are an integral part of the department's overall computerized central control water management system (Maxicom) for our city parks and in particular for Lodi Lake Park. Department staff designed the components and they will be installed by park maintenance staff as part of the irrigation improvements to Lodi Lake Park. Sub Total Tax TOTAL 853.00 14625 $21,276.25. 1,648.91 $22,925.16 TOTAL P.01 RESOLUTION NO. 96-180 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE SOLE -SOURCE PURCHASE OF RAINBIRD MAXICOM IRRIGATION COMPONENTS AND RELATED EQUIPMENT WHEREAS, Lodi Municipal Code, Section 3.20.070, authorizes dispensing with bids for purchases of supplies, services or equipment when it is in the best interests of the City to do so; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department has $22,925.16 from Capital Improvement Project appropriations from the 1996-97 fiscal year budget; and WHEREAS, the Maxicom Components are proprietary through Rainbird, and are consistent with the existing Department irrigation systems; and WHEREAS, staff recommends the sole -source purchase of the Maxicom Components and related equipment from Normac in the amount of $22,925.16. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lodi City Council hereby approves the sole -source purchase of Maxicom Irrigation Components and related equipment from Normac in the amount of $22,925.16.
