HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - October 2, 1996 (57)COUNCIL COMMUNICATION FOµ' AGENDA TITLE: Contract Award for Recreation Office Reception and Lobby Remodel, 125 North Stockton Street ($34,880) MEETING DATE: October 2, 1996 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt the attached resolution awarding the contract for the above project to McFadden Construction, of Stockton, in the amount of $34,880, and appropriate funds in accordance with the recommendation shown below. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project will provide the Recreation Division's office reception area and lobby with new cabinets, countertops, vinyl flooring, carpet, main electrical panel, electrical raceways, computer outlets, and paint. When completed, the reception and lobby areas will be in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. City staff has discussed the bid results with McFadden Construction and contacted references provided by Mr. McFadden. This contractor is confident he can do the work for the price he quoted. His references all said they would not hesitate in using McFadden Construction for future projects. Plans and specifications for this project were approved on August 21, 1996.
