HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - August 21, 1996 (58)AGENDA TITLE: Plans and Specifications and Advertisement for Bids for Recreation Office Reception and Lobby Remodel, 125 North Stockton Street MEETING DATE: August 21, 1996 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the plans and specifications for the above project and authorize advertising for bids. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: In 1991, the State of California adopted the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Since that time, the reception and lobby areas of the Recreation Office have been in violation of the ADA standards. This project will meet today's standards and current building codes. The improvements will enhance the service that the staff provides to our physically challenged customers, and also address a number of electrical code violations at the office. New improvements will consist of cabinets, countertops, vinyl flooring, carpet, main electrical panel, electrical raceways, computer outlets, and painting. FUNDING: The money for this project will be coming from the Capital Outlay Reserve Fund. A request for appropriation of funds will be made at contract award.
