No action is required. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: In accordance with the Contract Change Order Policy, the City Council is being informed of change orders approved by the City Manager for this project since the July 17, 1996 Council meeting. The final change orders for this project are shown on the attached summary. The original contract for this project was $1,853,310. The total cost of all change orders is $239,430, or approximately 12.9 percent of the contract. The project is now complete except for some minor punch list items. The summary, showing descriptions of the change orders, is very brief; however, detailed below is a more complete description of the work involved in the change orders over $1,500. More detailed descriptions and backup information for all of the change orders are available in the Public Works office. Change Order No. 104 - The emergency power system for City Hall and the Public Safety Building had to be upgraded. This change order added additional electric panels at City Hall and the Public Safety Building. ($20,692) Change Order No. 105- This change order covers the additional base boards needed in some areas throughout the building. ($5,966) Change Order No. 108 - The City Hall fire alarm and the security alarm systems required additional electrical circuits not included in the original plans. This change order also covered electrical changes necessitated by the installation of the office systems furniture.
