A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING
LOCAL MATCH TO THE MK -SMART GROWTH INCENTIVE
PROGRAM INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT FOR
LODI AVENUE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby
authorize a local match to the MK -Smart Growth Incentive Program (MK-SGIP) infrastructure
grant for Lodi Avenue Improvement Project; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that at the October San Joaquin Council of
Governments (SJCOG) Board meeting, an MK-SGIP grant was awarded in the amount of
$750,000 to the Lodi Avenue Improvement Project; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby verifies that the purpose of
the MK-SGIP grant is to provide infrastructure improvements to Lodi Avenue that encourage
pedestrian, bicycle, and transit trips; transit access improvements; street calming, enhanced
lighting and streetscape improvement projects; and walkable community project improvements;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby identifies 50% matching
funds in the amount of $750,000, comprised of several available sources including $1,900,000 in
Proposition 18, $179,140 in Transportation Development Act Transit/Streets, $250,000 in
Community Development Block Grant, $80,000 in Art in Public Places, and $565,000 in Measure
K Local Street Repair. The total estimated project cost is $3,724,140.
