HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2008-240RESOLUTION NO. 2008-240 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT DISINFECTION LAMPS FOR THE WHITE SLOUGH WATER POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY WHEREAS, ultraviolet (UV) light disinfection lamps are major components used in the disinfection system at the White Slough Water Pollution Control Facility (WSWPCF). The City no longer uses chlorine compounds to treat wastewater; and WHEREAS, to remain in compliance with its discharge permit, the City needs to install 725 new UV lamps in four banks of the UV disinfection facility. The lamps being replaced have reached the end of their useful life; and WHEREAS, the lamps will be supplied by Coombs-Hopkins/DC Frost, the representative for Trojan Technologies, Inc., the sole supplier of replacement parts for the UV system. City staff will install the lamps: and WHEREAS, failure to install the lamps would subject the City to state fines. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the purchase of UV light disinfection lamps for the White Slough Water Pollution Control Facility from Coombs-Hopkins/DC Frost, of Walnut Creek, California, in the amount of $115,000.
