HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2008-148RESOLUTION NO. 2008-148 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF PROCESS CHEMICAL SODIUM HYDROXIDE FOR USE AT THE WHITE SLOUGH WATER POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY WHEREAS, on May 15, 2008, the City of Lodi solicited process chemical bids from four vendors for the delivery of sodium hydroxide, also known as caustic acid, to the White Slough Water Pollution Control Facility; and WHEREAS, two quotes were received as summarized below: Bidder Location Bid Basic Chemical Solutions Santa Fe Springs, CA $ 89,250 Sierra Chemical Company Sparks, NV $ 111,250 WHEREAS, as the annual usage for sodium hydroxide may vary depending on the quantity and strength of the wastewater treated, the approximate annual purchase may also vary; and WHEREAS, staff recommends the purchase of the process chemical sodium hydroxide from the low bidder, Basic Chemical Solutions, of Santa Fe Springs, California. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the purchase in the amount of $89,250 from Basic Chemical Solutions, of Santa Fe Springs, California, to provide the process chemical sodium hydroxide for the White Slough Water Pollution Control Facility.
