WHEREAS, in accordance with law, this City Council did advertise for sealed proposals or bids for the purchase of one to four 100 horsepower pumping units, such bids or proposals to be received and opened on the 4th day of December, 1946 and no such bids or proposals were received at the time so set for the reception of the same, and, WHEREAS, again, this City Council did advertise for sealed bids or proposals for said pumping units, such bids or proposals to be received and opened on the 15th day of January, 1947 and again no bids or proposals were received in answer to this second advertisement, and, 1/11-1ERM on the said 15th day of January, 1947 this City Council did then elect to purchase one or more, but not exceeding four of such pumping units in the open market and did then instruct Clinton Henning, its City Engineer and Thomas G. K.illelea, its Superintendent of Public Utilities to use their utmost endeavors to secure commitments from such companies as they might be able to contact for the purchase of one or mote of such pumping units, and, WHEREAS, the said City Engineer and the said Superintendent of Public Utilities have secured proposals to furnish and deliver pumping units complying with this City specifications therefore at practical dates of delivery, and, MINUS, the said City Engineer recommends that the Pomona Pump unit offered by Hull J. Clancy of Acampo, California is the lowest in first cost, bears the highest weighted efficiency of any offered and is suitable for the purposes of this City, and, WHEREAS, it is a matter of urgent necessity that the pumps mentioned herein be placed on the Cityrs water supply system at the earliest possible moment; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Lodi. purchase from the said Hull J. Clancy, two (2), 100 H.P. Pomona Pumping Units at the price named in his proposal and that the City Engineer, for and on behalf of this City be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to issue purchase orders for said units and buy the same. 0 Certified to be a full, true and correct copy of Resolution No 1301 of the City Council of the City of Lodi adopted February 12, 1947
