RESOLUTION NO. 1291
Easolonts REQUESTING THAT THE STATE CF
CALIFORNIA FINANCE INVESTIGATIONS FOR
RECORDING STREAM FLOW ON THE MO ELUIdNI
RIVER IN COOPERATION WITH THE UNITED
STATES GEOLOGICAL SURVEY.
`AREAS, as of July 1, 1939 the City of Lodi entered into a
cooperative agreement with the United States Geological Survey for
the making, recordation and publishing of stream flow reoecds on
the Mokelurnne River at Clements, Woodbridge and the Woodbridge
Irrigation District's canal, which agreement, as renewed from time
to time, obligated this City to pay one half of the costs of such
stream flow investigations, and,
MESA, since July 1, 1939 the City of Lodi has contributed
to date the sum of Seven Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($7 400.00)
to the makes of these records under the agreement above mentioned.
and,
SAS, the records so obtained and published are of state
wide interest and value and are used by departments of the State in
their studies of water uses, salinity control and the like as well
as by state -federal agencies and property owner3 down stream frau
the measuring stations who do not contribute to the cost of making
these investigations, therefore,
BE IT RESCLVID that this City Council does hereby request the
Director of Finance to allocate Californis State funds an may be
necessary hereafter to provide for the continuation of stream gauging
records on the Mokelwnne River at the Clements, Woodbridge and Wood-
bridge Canal gauging stations by cooperative agreement with the United
States Geological Survey in order that authentic accurate records of
stream flow ire continued, the state funds so allocated and paid to
he in lieu of the contributions now made by the City of Lodiā¢
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies o f this Resolution be
presented to Edward Hyatt, State Engineer and James S. Dean, Director
of Finance of the State of California.
