RESOLUTION NO. 1217
liELATIN TO CIVILIAN WAR SERVICES
WHEREAS, due to changes in local conditions due to
progress of the present wars, particularly the war in the Pacific,
since the passage of Ordinance km. 290 by this City Council on
May 5, 1943, the said Ordinance and the Year Council established
thereby is no longer needed as part of the protective services
of thi? City and tide repeal of this Ordinance is now pending
before thio City council, but,
WHEREAS, it i s essential that certain positions and
functions relating to civilian war services be continued until
such a time as this City council finds them to be no longer
required, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that on and after the date upon which
tae repeal of Ordinance i!o. 290 becomes effective, the following
services and offices shall he retained to be under the imtediate
supervision and control of this City Council as to appoihtnent,
opei'at'.on, designation. of functions and their termination, viz-
(-.) The Auxiliary Police korce and the Auxiliary Fire
Force as more particularly desinated in Ordinances
Nos. 279 and 2F0.
Q2') The Volunteer Uffice under the direction of the
Chief of rolice to serve in emergencies as a
reci,uitiog off' ice and to register and enroll
workers in war serv:Ices subject to compensation
insurance.
5) The office of Local Property Officer with the
same powers am', duties as prescribed by
Sect!on 9 of ordinance N+o. 290 and in both
the i"ederal and State vvar kowers Acts; the
L.kiief of the L Ity Fire uepartrrient to be
continued as 'ueh Property officer.

of Resolution No. 1217 of the City Council of
the Lity of Lodi as adopted in regular meeting
of said City Louncil held on the 20th day of
