meeting to present a status report regarding the City of Lodi's Home Page.

INFORMATION SUPERHIGHWAY TASK FORCE
Lodi City Council Update
Wednesday, July 17, 1996
HOME PAGE:
Lodi's Home Page is continuing to include more inforniation driven both by the need for specific
information and by the availability of requested information. The task force decided to monitor the
response carefully to determine the effectiveness of our Web Page and is pleased to announce that there
have been over 2700 hits since May 1, 1996. We are very pleased with this level of response!
CONTENTS:
On February 7, 1996, I had the privilege of announcing that the City of Lodi had a Home Page on the
World Wide Web. Now, approximately 5 months later, we have some new items to announce on the
Home Page:
o City CounciImembers E -Mail (available both by address or from links on the Home Page)
o City Council Minutes (dating back to January 3, 1996)
o Current City Council Agenda
ACCESS:
The Home Page can be accessed at the address of ]illy://www.lodi.eov
FUTURE:
We will continue to make changes to respond to community needs. And in addition, the Task Force is
working on the following items:
o getting more information from various City Departments: (including, but not limited to the following)
- PARKS and RECREATION - Minutes of Meetings; Class Schedules and Events
- PUBLIC WORKS - Water Quality Report
- PLANNING COMMISSION - Minutes of Meetings
- S.P.A.R.0 (Site Planning Architectural Revue Committee) - Minutes of Meetings
- HUMAN RESOURCES - Job Announcements
- CITY CLERK - Lists of Boards and Commissions
- YOUTH COMMISSION - Minutes of Meetings
o Electronic Forms (E -Forms) for various City Departments

I would like to acknowledge the Task Force members and thank them for their efforts over the past year

CONCLUSION:
In conclusion, we are excited to be participating in this rapidly changing area of the Information
Superhighway. We will attempt to continue to keep Lodi prepared for developments in this area that
would be beneficial to the community. And we do appreciate comments and suggestions on how to make
the Home Page both useful and a pleasurable place to visit.
