RESOLUTION NO. 1197
WHEREAS this City's present facilities for the disposal
of sewage and industrial wastes have reached or exceeded their
maximum capacity at their present location causing threats of
nuisance and possible danger to $ ealt ., and,
WHEREAS provision must be made to take care of the
future growth of this city and consequently increased burdens
on the city's sanitary systems, and,
WHEREAS certain lands far removed from places of
human habitation and accessible to tidal flow can be obtained
at a distance of about six miles southwest of this city that
will provide a disposal plant site ample in size and suitable in
location for the ultimate disposal of all of this city's sewage
and industrial wastes, which site, \Ae are assured will meet with
the approval of the State Department of health, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that this City purchase from GEORGE W.
EMDE and ELIZABETH W. EMDE, his wife, at a price of 185.00 per
acre, a certain tract or parcel of land containing 320 acres
more or less situated in Township 3 North, Range J East,
M. D. B. & M., and for the purposes hereof, described as follows:
The East ' of the SE4 of Section 23, 11514, R5E, M.D.B.&M.,
and all that portion of the Soutix * of Section 24 in
said Township and Range alying Southwesterly of the
proposed Mosley (Thornton) Road together with the
right and privilege to enter upon the land lying North
of and adjacent to the ditch leading from the first
above described parcel to White Slough with men and
equipment for the purposes of maintaining said ditch
in order to drain excess waters from the sewage and
waste disposal fields proposed to be erected on the
lands to be acquired.
RESOLVED, further, that Glenn West, City Attorney of
this City be and he is hereby authorized and directed to proceed
in accordance with this resolution to secure a deed to the lands
herein. subject to the proration of any rents or taxes prepaid
thereon and any incidental expenses necessary to effect the
purposes hereof to the end that this City secure a good and
sufficient deed to the land herein sought to be acquired.

Resolution No. 1197 of the City Council of the
City of Lodi as passed and adopted in regular
meeting of said City Council held Wednesday,
May 3, 191t by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen, Weihe, Coffield, Riggs,
Tolliver and Finn (Mayor)
NOES Councilmen, None
ABSENT: Councilmen, None
