RESOLUTION NO. 1179
A RESOLUTION EINDING CEHTAIN TAX SOLD PhOPEhTY IN THE
CITY OF LCDI, COUNTY OP SAN JOAQUIN, STATE QF CALIFQ NIA
SUITABLE FOH PUBLIC USE, STATING SUCH USE, DIRECTING AP-
PLICATION TO THE STATE CONTROLLER TO HAVE SAID PROPERTY
CLASSIFIED FOR PUBLIC USE AND AUTHORIZING THE PREPARATION
AND NEGOTIATION OF AN AOHEEN1 T WITH THE BOARD QF SUPER-
VISOHS OF SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CALIlt'OHNIA AS TO THE LASE
PHICE TO BE PAID FOR SAID TAX DEEDED FRCFhRTX PX THE CITY
CF LODI.
WBERRAS, the following described property was in
accordance with law, sold to the State of California for
delinquent taxes of 1931-1932 by the Tax Collector of San Joaquin
County,California on the seventh day of July, 1937, Tax Sale
No. 897, viz:
Assessed in the name of John E. Snyder: 'AES &
PITCHES ALUDITION TO LODI: Commencing at the inter-
section of the west line of Pleasant Avenue and the
south line of Lockeford Street, thence Westerly 100
feet, thence Southerly 157 feet, thence Easterly
100 feet, thence Northerly 153.5 feet to the point
of beginning, excepting the south 10 feet for alley"
AND, WHEREAS, this City Council of the City of Lodi
finds, determines and declares that the abovE described property
is suitable and necessary for public use; that is, that the
said property is by reason of its location, environment, ac-
cessibility and size is suitable and necessary to said city of
Lodi for the storage and repair of materials and equ1wment owned
by it and used in the upkeep of streets, parks and -other public
uses, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that public convenience and necessity
require that the City Of Lodi acquire title to said tax sold
property and that proceedings be instituted under and pursuant
to Chapter 4.3 of the Hevenue and Taxation code of the State
of California and such other statutes as may be applicable
to effect the vesting of title in said property in the said City.
BE IT FURTHER HESOLVED, that application be made to
the Controller of the State of California as "Classifying Agency"
to have the said tax sold property classified for public use.
Hl150LVEID x''WITHER, that Glenn Yiest, City Attorney of
this city and J. F. Blakely, City Clerk, be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to prepare and negotiate an agreeaent
with the Board of Supervisors conforning with the provisions of
said Chapter 4.3 of the Hevenue and Taxation Code fixing the
price to be paid by said City for said tax sold property and to
submit the same to this City Council for its approval and
execution.

I, J. F. BLAKELY, City Clerk of the City of Lodi
and ex -officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do
hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true and correct
copy of Resolution No. 1179 of the City Council of the City
of Lodi as passed and adopted in regular meeting thereof on
the 20th day of October, 1943 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen, Coffield, Higgs, Spooner and Rinn
NOES: Councilmen, None
ABSENT: Councilman, Vieihe
