RESOLUTION NO. 1163
A RESOLUTION ESTABI TSHING THE OFFICJ O
CITY ENGINEER, COMBINING THE SALVE WITH THE
OFFICE OF SUPERINTENDENT OF S..BEETS AND

RESOLVED, that from and after the effective date of
Ordinance No. 2.8asadopted by this City Council on the 21st
day of April, 1943,the Office of City Engineer of the City of
Lodi, who shall also be ex-offioio Superintendent of Streets
is hereby established and the duties, term of office and com-
pensation thereof shall be as follows:
(1) As City Engineer, ha shall do and perform all
surveying and engineering work of the City, prepare plans and
specifications for public works and improvements, give engineering
service and advice to the various departments of the City, be
in charge of the sewage and industrial waste disposal plants of
the City and of all physical maintenance and construction in the
City parks, playgrounds, the armory, the stadium and other public
works' huildings and grounds, he shall perform the duties of
building inspector as set forth in Ordinance No. 241 also inspect
gas installations in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance
No. 25L and shall render such other services of an engineering
nature as may be required of him by the City Council.
(2) As Superintendent of Streets, he shall do and
perform all of the duties of said office as may be prescribed by
common usage, by ordinance and by law.
(3) The City Engineer ,nd ex-ofi'icio Superintendent
of Streets shall be appointed by resolution of the City Council
and he shall serve thereafter uhtil his death, resignation.
removal or until his successor shall have been appointed and
shall have qualified.
().E) The salary of the City Engineer shall be Three
Hundred Dollars per month, payable monthly, for such part of his
time as he may devote to the duties of his office, and such
additional compensation for extra ordinary services as may be
allowed from time to time by the City Council. He shall also
be allowed his necessary expenses including transportation,
incurred in the performance of his duties.
(5) Hesolution No. 1159, entitled "A Hesolution
Appointing 0 . L. hhite, City Engineer of the City of Lodi" is
hereby reaffirmed and continued in full force and effect,
except as modified herein.
