RESOLUTION NU. 1138
W1iEI EAS this City Council, by its Hesolution No. 1128,
adopted June 3, did approve and adopt certain specifications
and plans for "Basement Alterations of Lodi City Hall's , w'liicri
said Resolution, among other things, directed the City Clerk to
publish a notice inviting sealed proposals for doing the work
and furnishing the materials necessary to make said alterations,
and,
WHEREAS. due publication of said notice has been
proven by affidavit of the principal clerk of the publisher of
The Lodi News -Sentinel, the newspaper of grneral circulation
in which said notice was published, and,
WIIERE,AS, said notice called for bids returnable at
5 o'clock P.M. of Oednesday, July 15, 19142 and the City Clerk
has reported in writing that no bids were received up to said
hour and that no copies of the plans and specifications have
been called for or taken out by prospective bidders and it is
evident that no contractor will desire to bid on this work
under present conditions, therefore,
BE IT RI✓'SVLVE1a:
(1) That this City Council finds, determines and
declares that due notice to b!,dders was given in time, form and
manner as required by law, and that no bids or proposals were
received in answer thereto:
(2) That this Council finds that public interest and
necessity require that this work be done w i th materials now
on hand or obtainable without priority rating and by day labor
in order to provide adequate space for the War Price and
Rationing board in a location accessible to the citizens of
Lodi and vicinity.

The foregoing Resolution No. 1138 was regularly
introduced, passed and adopted in a regular
meeting of the City Gouneil of the City of Lodi
held July 15, 19142 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen, Rine, Riggs, Coffield, I'veihe
and Bull
NOES: Councilmen, None
