COUNCIL COMMUNICATION
AGENDA TITLE: Contract Award for Asphalt Materials for Fiscal Year 1996/97 ($106,990)
MEETING DATE: June 19, 1996

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt the attached resolution awarding all three
items of the contract for asphalt materials for fiscal year 1996/97 as
follows, and appropriate funds in accordance with the recommendation
shown below.
Item A. 1,500 Tons/FOB Plant Granite Construction Stockton $37,980
Item B. 150 Tons/Stockpile City Limits American River Asphalt Folsom 4,690
Item C. 2000 Tons/Hopper of Paver F.T.G. Construction Lodi 64,320
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This contract provides asphalt materials for various street
maintenance projects carried on throughout the City during the fiscal
year.
Specifications for this project were approved on May 15, 1996. The City received four bids for the asphalt
materials as shown on the attached bid tab. This year's total contract price shows an average six percent
increase in price per ton.

RESOLUTION NO. 96-74
A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
AWARDING THE BID FOR ASPHALT MATERIAL FOR
FISCAL YEAR 1996/97
WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of
this City Council sealed bids were received and publicly opened on May 30, 1996 at 11:00 a.m, for
the Asphalt Material for Fiscal Year 1996/97, described in the specifications therefore approved by
the City Council on May 15, 1996 and
WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report thereof
filed with the City Manager as follows:

WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends awarding all three items of the contract
for Asphalt Material for Fiscal Year 1996/97 as shown above; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lodi City Council that the award of all
three items of the contract for Asphalt Material for Fiscal Year 1996/97, be and the same is hereby
awarded as shown above, in the amount of $106,990; and
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby approves appropriating $106,990
from the Street Maintenance Fund for this project.

the City of Lodi in a regular meeting held June 19, 1996, by the following vote:
