HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2001In the City Council City of Lodi Lodi, California RESOLUTION NO. 2001 WHEREAS, due to the increase in various forms of lit- erature to be obtaiped on the market which portrays horror, sex, sensationalism, depravity, crime and licentiousness, this Council has been requested to take steps to control or prohibit the sale and distribution of such literature, and WHEREAS, this Council is informed that a bill to control or prohibit the sale and distribution of such obscene and lurid literature is being presented to the Legislature for adoption, and WHEREAS, this City Council believes that state-wide con- trol of this problem may be necessary in order to combat the evil influence which is available to our children on many bookstands. is most every city. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Lodi as follows: 1. The Legislature of the State of California is hereby urged and requested to pass proper legislation to prohibit or control the sale of all literature within the State por- traying and sensationalizing horror, sex, depravity, crime, obscenity and licentiousness, particularly where it comes into the hands of children. 2.
