RESOLUTION NO. 1985
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LODI
GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF THE
HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS ,64TH
ADDITION, LANDS SOUTH OF MOKELUMNE RIVER AND LAST
OF HIGHWAY 99a TO THE CITY OF LODI, AND CLASSIFY-
ING SAID TERRITORY IN THE M INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of that certain act of the
legislature of the State of California entitled "Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939," proceedings for the annexation
to the City of Lodi of the territory hereinafter particularly
described have been initiated by the filing of a petition for
annexation to the City of Lodi of the territory hereinafter
described by the owners of all of the land, both by area and
assessed value, in said territory proposed to be annexed, and
WHEREAS, the exterior boundaries of said territory described
in said petition and which territory is contiguous to the limits
of the City of Lodi, San Joaquin County, State of California,
are described as follows:
A portion of the Southwest Quarter of Section 31, Township
4 North, Range 7 East, and the Northwest Quarter of Section
6, Township 3 North, Range 7 East, Mount Diablo Base and
Meridian, San Joaquin County, California and more particularly
described as follows:
Commencing at % point on the South line of the South-
west Quarter of said Section 31, 32 feet, more or less,
easterly from the Southwest corner of said Quarter section,
which point is also a corner of the present boundary line
of the City of Lodi; thence southerly along said City
boundary line 99 feet, more or less, to a Borth line of
Lot 40, as said lot is designated on a map entitled "Map
of Lawrence Homestead Addition," filed April 5, 1920 in
Volume 10, page 5, Book of Maps and Plats, San Joaquin
County Records; thence easterly along said north line
647.1 feet, more or less, to a corner of said Lot 40;
thence northerly along the west line of said Lot 40 to
its intersection with the South bank of the Mokelumne
River; thence westerly, downstream, along the south
bank of said river to its intersection with the west
line of said Quarter Section; thence southerly along said
West line to the Southwest corner of said Quarter section,
which point also lies on said City boundary line; thence
easterly along the South line of said Quarter section and said
City boundary line 32 feet, more or less, to the point of
beginning, containing 12.5 across, more or less.
WHEREAS, the aforesaid petition further requests that the
above described property be classified in the Iii industrial District,
such classification to be effective coincident with the effective
date of the annexation as provided.in Section 4.2 of Ordinance
No. 40 of the City of Lodi, and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid petition for annexation of the territory
hereinbefore described to the City of Lodi, a municipal corporation,
has been filed with and received by the Gouncil of the Gity of
Lodi, and
WHEREkS, less than twelve registered voters reside within
said territory thereby qualifying the territory for annexation
under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory
Act of 1939, and
WHEREAS, the boundaries of said territory have been approved
by the County Boundary Cotnmissi.on of San Joaquin County a, to their
definiteness and certainty at a meeting of that body on November
1, 1956, and

WHEREAS, the annexation of the hereinabove described property
and its classification in the M Industrial District has been
approved by the City Planning Commission of the City of Lodi at a
regular meeting held November 26, 1956, now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, , as follows:
1. That the City Council of the City of Lodi does by this
resolution give notice of such proposed annexation; does hereby
give notice of its intention to zone said property M Industrial to
become effective coincident with the effective date of the annexa-
tion; does hereby designate said territory as 1164th Addition, Lands
South of Mokelumne River and East of Highway 99# and further, does
fix Wednesday, January 2, 1957, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m.,
at the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Lodi California, as the
day, hour and place when and %here any person owning real property
within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having any
objection to the proposed annexation may appear before the City
Council and show cause why said territory should not be annexed.
2. That the Clark of the City of Lodi be, and he is hereby
directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at
least twice in the "Lodi dews -Sentinel," a newspaper printed, pub-
Iiahed, and circulated in the City of Lodi, the municipal corporation
to which it is proposed to annex the hereinbefore described territory,
and at least twice in the "Stockton Record," a newspaper printed,
published, and circulated outside the City of Lobi, all in the time,
form and manner required by law.
3. That at any time not later than the hour set for hearing
objections to the proposed annexation, any owner of property with-
in the territory proposed to be annexed may file written protest
against the proposed annexation; that such protests shall state

tho name or names of the owner or owners of the property affected
thereby and the description and area of such property in general
terms.
Certified to be a full, true and correct copy of
Resolution No. 1985 of the City Council of the
City of Lodi and that the same was passed and
adopted in regular meeting of said City Council
held December 5, 1956.
